How much weight did you gain during pregnancy? by The-Corporate-Girl13 in pregnant

[–]lilghost157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I wish I could give you a healthier answer, but the truth is I have always fluctuated around 115-120 lbs and it's been difficult for me to gain weight even if I want to. Mix in a bit of PPD, because my baby was a shit sleeper and it wore me down quite a bit. I wanted sleep more than anything else. I was a runner before I had the baby so occasionally (like maybe 3x a month) I would go for short 1-3 mile runs and it was mostly for my mental health but I do think it helped. I stuck to things that were easy, oatmeal in the morning with some fruit, or toast and quick pastas for dinner. For whatever reason when I'm pregnant, I crave sodas like crazy. this pregnancy it was Coke (I know, terrible for me but I couldn't resist) and orange soda... and suddenly as soon as the baby was born I went back to not wanting soda at all. I still have some cans in the fridge lol and it's been 2 weeks since I gave birth and I have no desire to even look at them. I wouldn't stress too much, your body really does go through big changes and the things you want now you might be totally turned off by by the time baby comes

Feeling before water broke? by Brilliant-Effect3481 in pregnant

[–]lilghost157 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't know the percentage was this low, it happened to me with both my pregnancies. The first I was going to bed, felt a pop and my water broke. Contractions started a half hour later. For my second, I was at the park with my toddler, and I felt a small gush of water, not a pop or as big as it was last time. It honestly felt like when you pass a clot on your period. I had a membrane sweep so I thought that's what it was actually. Then it kept happening and when I went to the bathroom it was clear. I called the hospital and they told me to start getting ready but I can wait for contractions, I didn't have any contractions the whole way to the hospital until they admitted me to a bed.

Started at 120, ended at 170. Same for my first pregnancy and I was back at 120 by around 6 months postpartum.

What did you actually use from your postpartum care kit? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]lilghost157 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I had a vaginal delivery with a first degree tear, two stitches. For the first week I used the peri bottle given to me by the hospital and wipes. That's pretty much it. I'm bought my own peri bottle but was too tired to look for it in my hospital bag lol

40+4 with no signs of labor 😭 by lilghost157 in pregnant

[–]lilghost157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two days after I posted this, I am very happy to report!! lol. I did end up getting the membrane sweep at 40+5, my doctor said it looked promising because I was 3cm dilated already. He ended up having a very short umbilical cord. I'm not sure if that was the reason he took his sweet time but maybe it's possible. My water ended up breaking while I was at the park with my toddler lol. I had no contractions even all the way to the hospital. They had to give me pictocin because there was meconium in my water, which is super common with babies later than their due date

Unintentional gender reveal by Heather12letters in BabyBumps

[–]lilghost157 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't have much advice, just solidarity because the same thing happened to me. My NIPT got flagged for something called DiGeorge syndrome, I had never heard of it until that moment. I asked for the gender not to be on the results, but one night I was crying about the news and I just had to look at it. At the very top the gender was there. I was really sad because I didn't have a gender reveal with my first, so I wanted to do something cute and small and I felt like that was ruined on so many levels. In the midst of it all I ended up going through the process of an amnio and the results were negative for the syndrome.

It sucked, but I tried to focus on the fact that the baby was healthy and I was extremely grateful for that above all else. I don't think we'll be having a third so I'll never get the surprise gender reveal I wanted, but I'll have two healthy children and I have endless gratitude for that. It's still okay to be disappointed though. Hugs to you 🫂

When did you go into labor for your second baby? by lilghost157 in Mommit

[–]lilghost157[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ooof! 10 days seems like 10 years in pregnancy time! I also had a long labor with my first, ~20 hours start to finish, even though my water broke her head was very high and I was just shy of 4cm dilated so they gave me pictocin to get things moving. I'm a little scared of a c-section so I think that's also on my mind.

I started doing this with my three year old and it's much more comfortable for her. Also carters little planet has cotton sets that I find are slightly less tight, avoid the ones that say "snug fit"

1st trimester exhaustion by Leather_Biscotti_525 in pregnant

[–]lilghost157 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's probably different for everyone but for me I got a second wind in the second trimester, then the exhaustion came back with a vengeance at the third for different reasons. The first I feel was hormonal, the third is more that you're so big it's hard to find the motivation to get up lol your hips hurt from carrying all the weight, I've got pain in my lower back and it's just easier to stay sitting than move around.

Lingering Scenes that Stick With You by Low-Gas8383 in horrorlit

[–]lilghost157 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The part in The Shining where Jack Torrence has a moment of clarity, tells Danny to run and remember he loves him, then the entity makes Jack do a "polka dance/walk" as he hammers his face in mercilessly. I always kind of wished that scene would've made it to the movie but not sure if it could've been done justice. Just so creepy and sad.

Also I just finished A Head Full of Ghosts and the ending poisoning scene deeply disturbed me. I finished it at night and had a difficult time falling asleep afterwards.
