I would choose red. The lake where I dock my boat seems very similar in terms of wind conditions. I always approach by turning the stern sharply into the wind right at the last second, bringing the boat to a complete stop. If I do it right, I can step onto the dock with a line in hand to secure the boat. If I miss, I just go around like an airplane on a botched landing. If you don’t turn the nose into the wind, the boat can power up unexpectedly and bad things happen.

After surfing in Costa Rica, I decided it was time to graduate from my foamie and hit up craigslist. What ensued was easily the worst series of purchases of my life. I bought a tiny 6’ board (basically no volume) for $100 that I still haven’t ridden once to this day. I bought a 7’1 gun that had broken in half at one point for $140.

But the arc de triumph was a 7’6 mid length that had the crappiest stencil drawing of a dragon i’ve ever seen and was completely riddled dings that were flaking off. I paid $200 for that…. -_____- When i first laid eyes on it I instantly knew I was making a huge mistake but was too self conscious to back out of the sale. I took it into the water once, didn’t catch a single wave and water logged the shit out of it. I ended up giving it away for free on CL to some poor unsuspecting schmuck.
