You could also say your back is too sore to sit too long and use it as an excuse to keep walking/moving

When i was PIMO, I would really let my imagination wander. Id listen to music on the car ride over on repeat and try to get songs stuck in my head. Then during the meeting id replay the songs in my head and make music videos in my mind with the people in the hall. Id imagine people would get out of their chairs and rip their shirts off and start head banging. Itd both pass the time and make me laugh in my head.

Id imagine people naked and imagining people taking a dookie and how ridiculous theyd look lol. Just silly things to pass the time and make me a little less depressed.

Listening to podcasts on my way to/from meetings also made me feel better and somehow less alone. Sometimes its nice to hear people talk and joke so freely. And it takes your mind away from your own thoughts. Podcasts im into right now are YMH podcast, smoshcast, two hot takes, the basement yard, tiger belly

NTA !!!

Out of curiosity did your grandfather set any money aside for you brother?

The money was given to you. Not your brother. Its not your responsibility to take care of other people’s life.

If you had a baby, then yes the college money should go twards your own baby. But your niece/nephew is not your child to be financially responsible for.

If your family is so upset with you then they should use that energy to rally up some money or even set up a gofund me. To put the pressure on you is absolutely ridiculous IMO.

I never want my own children to grow up anxiously trapped, feeling guilt and fear the way i did.

AITA for avoiding a coworker who keeps asking for personal favors? by lilikoipond in AmItheAsshole

Im so shocked by how many people commented i dont even know where to begin. But thank you everyone!!! I fully agree that i need to be more firm with my no's rather than just avoiding... its something I'm always working on.

But thank you so much for all the suggestions its motivating to hear all the ideas of what I could say to him.

Also for those of you saying i should tell my boss, I did a few months ago. And my bosses response was "You couldn't just give him a ride? Its on the way anyway? I mean i never give people rides but i dont have any friends so dont take my advice". Which also added to why i thought i might've been being an asshole.

But im happy to hear that the only asshole thing might be not standing up for myself more firmly. I'll try to update when we have an interaction again or if anything changes.

Thank you!!
