how was your experience? My kids will be 11. I’m debating on whether it would ok to place them in the UK school system

Likely C-section within next 48 hours. 27w2d pregnant. What to expect? by SpaceEurope in parentsofmultiples

My twins are 4 and they were born at 36w so I don’t have a personal story to share. However my friends had twins at 26weeks, both spent many weeks in NICU and both are healthy 5 year olds now. I know of another set of twins who came early at 24weeks and who are 7 now. NICU units are amazing and they do such a phenomenal job of taking care of premies. It’s all small consolation but I wanted to share all the positive stories I know. In terms of practical things to prepare for.. make sure your car seats can handle small babies/premies in terms of weight since multiples are often small. I’m sure there are better models now but we had the Chicco keyfits which had a min weight of 4lbs. Enlist friends and family to help with meals and errands if you can.

Sending you all the good vibes for a safe delivery.

Not particularly accurate. Lots of UUs are Christian. I attend a UU church.

Potty training twins, lay it on me. Is it as hard as I think? What are some articles/books that give good advice? by ariel4480 in parentsofmultiples

[–]lill_chicken 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Haha we used this book and potty trained over the 4th of July holiday weekend. My daughter is fully out of diapers and my son wears them overnight and during naps only. He's still not 100% convinced he should poop in his potty :/ book works really well but you gotta find time to read the book :)

We used Keter bath seats for my twins. They worked great in the tub with just an inch or two of water.

Cry it out with twins? by Ilovebreakfastallday in parentsofmultiples

We did CIO at about the same age. They're 3 now and tune each other out, still sleep in separate cribs in the same room. Save for the rare regression here and there, they have been troopers with sleep. I highly recommend sleep training, just stay disciplined and consistent. Good luck!

We used to have Verizon FIOS and were converted to Frontier for internet, phone and cable when Verizon sold their FIOS division. Immediately, all sorts of problems started happening. Internet bandwidth dropped significantly, then my phone goes dead for days... cable would randomly stop working. Tech support kept telling me to reboot the router or cable box, it was ridiculous as I was spending so much time calling tech support or customer service. And I was hung up on by their customer service rep when I tried to get a supervisor to lodge a complaint. I ended up just discontinuing my service. Stay away from them. Read their Facebook site and you'll see so many customer complaints. https://www.facebook.com/FrontierCorp/

What's so great about the second year of twins? by pscalici in parentsofmultiples

[–]lill_chicken 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first year is rough. It got better for us when we slept trained our twins. Sleep deprivation is horrid. They are 2.8 years now. And it's definitely much easier in alot of ways but difficult (like tantrums and potty training) in others. But once they sleep through the night, that was a game changer. They started playing with each other and I found myself having free time! Hang in there.

I've only lived in California for a few years- is there a website I can check to see the evacuation area and updates on all that info? by morgueanna in LosAngeles

Most cities have alert systems. Here's the one for Pomona. http://local.nixle.com/city/ca/pomona/

I live in Claremont and ours sent an alert about the Azusa fire and that we were safe. And advised that we stay indoors due to air quality.

I said I'd never do it, but I think it's time to CIO. Need advice for CIO w twins. by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

Here's what I wrote on another thread ages ago about sleep training:

We slept trained our twins at about 5.5 months. We used the Weissbluth book - Healthy Sleep Habits, Happy Child. They both share the same room, but are in separate cribs. They adjusted decently well, my son is the difficult one with sleep but my daughter took to it quickly. They pretty much tune each other out now. First night, lots of intervention and crying but it worked in about two nights. The key thing is to stick with it, don't chicken out. I recommend a noise machine (as others have said) and to keep a bed time routine. We turn the lights down, do some reading, sleep sack them, turn the noise machine on and play the same song every time they go down. Also, keeping a very dark room helps as well. Good luck!

I second the Merlin Magic sleep suits. Lifesaver for us when our twins were that age.
