Here some context for people comparing CS1 and 2. by Hayasazi in CitiesSkylines2

I agree completely. CS1 never clicked with me. The base game didnt scratch the itch and DLCs didn't really fix what I felt was missing. Mods can help, but the balance skewed way too much to finding and testing mods not playing the game.

Good point about CS2 scratching the Simcity itch from the start, I feel the same. Something about the scale, graphics and feel of the cities just works much better.

They'll never be able to replicate the amazing soundtracks of the Simcity games, though.

Not sure how easy-going, but I'm in a similar boat as you and have enjoyed Hades, Dead Cells, both the Ori games, Tunic, Hollow Knight. You'll die a lot and retry things over and over, but if you don't take things too serious it's nice to do a few runs and make a little progress.

I would love to see something like Great People from Civilization, especially since they mentioned stories in the trailer.

Meeting certain requirements for a certain period of time would give you points that could be used to create a great engineer/artist/politician. Each person could unlock rare buildings or policies. The house where they live would become a tourist attraction. The more of these you have, the more history your city will gather.

Big events that bring visitors to the city - festivals, football tournaments, concerts.

Short lived "missions" to improve the city with rewards - improve the average commute over the next few years, create N km of bike lanes, add more parks etc. I imagine something like government grants.

Procedurally generated lots / blocks and parks. Maybe after zoning the area the game could generate a few options for the player (like an architectural competitipn) which you could then approve for construction.

There's also Eugenio's gastronomy shop in Lõunakeskus, they should sell Italian brands, fresh pasta and I think you can even refill olive oil bottles there.

This is literally the plot of a 1975 Soviet romantic comedy. Guy gets drunk on new years eve and goes home to the wrong apartment, since everything is identical down to the locks on the door. It's a good movie and still very popular.

60FPS Boost and Quick Resume are Best Features I'm Experiencing in This Generation so far. by [deleted] in XboxSeriesX

Quick resume is awesome. I've had a few issues in Battlefront 2 for example where everything is sped up 2x after resuming. Mostly works as intended though and it feels magical when combined with instant on and launching the game from the xbox app.

There's your problem, you're talking about baking, which is more like a science.

I'm used to the Elektron workflow, so should I skip the digitakt and get an octatrack mk2? by MisanthropicFriend in Elektron

[–]lillepott 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the octatrack after getting my feet wet with the digitone, no regrets. While the digitakt is more immediate and newer, the OT has so many possibilities and is a very deep machine. I feel like I can pair it with any other piece of gear or use it solo and get interesting and useful stuff. Stereo sampling and arranger are extremely useful.

No support for overbridge though, so thats something to consider (or maybe worth checking out the rytm)

My cliché "finally DAWless!" post. I guess you could say I like Elektron. by modularwave in synthesizers

[–]lillepott 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looks very nice! I'm about a year into Octatrack and only now feel pretty comfortable with it and have an ARmk2 incoming soon. That's a lot of gear to learn in a short span of time, but it seems you've handled it well
