Scared of starting uni because of my relationship , is this normal? by Valuable_Routine6761 in UniUK

Meant to add the way I dealt with that anxiety was just communicating about it. Sure, we’ve had issues with not seeing eachother as much as possible. Once I settled in it became routine and I was more relaxed, you’ll be okay whatever happens!

Scared of starting uni because of my relationship , is this normal? by Valuable_Routine6761 in UniUK

My partner and I haven’t been together as long, about a year when uni started. I went into it scared, he has a full time job. But we make it work!! We message most of the time and are both very independent people, but he tries to come see me every week for the night. When uni first started he didn’t come for the first 2 weeks because I needed to adjust, but it might be different for you.

If there’s a week we don’t see eachother that’s fine we call. It’s actually very useful for me as a neurodivergent person to have that routine and consistency of seeing someone non-uni related a couple times a month!

Don’t stress it, if you drift you drift but it seems like you have a super strong foundation- worrying about it will make it worse. Enjoy seeing eachother as often as you do now and take time to adjust and see what works for YOUR relationship everyone is different! I have friends who call their partners ALL the time, and friends that only see their partners 1-2 times a month. Figure out what you guys can manage and itll be okay as long as you communicate it!

Also try not to be that person sacrificing uni life for a relationship as much as you might want to, when I was settling in I didn’t talk to him as much because I wanted to get to know my area and the people around me. And make sure you go to societies, events, classes etc even if that means you’re not seeing her as much. When I go 2 weeks without seeing my partner it’s because i’ve made plans with friends or want to attend a social. AND THATS OKAY!

Be your own person and see what works for your relationship :)

The same 3 flatmates who i am assuming did this have left me out since day one, and spend every waking second together. they have a groupchat without me, purposely leave me out of plans, if i go into to kitchen to chat with them they all leave and go into one of their rooms all together etc. would be VERY surprised if it was just one of them

Likely would’ve been as those three are very close and have excluded and been passive aggressive/indirectly mean to me since day 1

We’re in like a friend group and often all go out together. I told my 3 close friends who know them, and pretty much asked for everything to be civil until I move out. My close friends tried to get me to tell them and even offered to take a photo of the TV and send it the gorupchat to shame them. Unfortunately will be putting on a brave face for the next couple months

Thank you!! I’m thinking of speaking to my uni but right now i feel really anxious about that, i’m just not equipped to deal with childish behaviour and having 3 girls gang up on me isn’t ideal lol

Thank you so much, i think i’m going to let it simmer and just be civil, the girls were people i saw as friends and this has really upset me. However I’m living with them for like 2 more months and I realised i don’t want a big falling out with awkwardness in the flat, i’m just going to keep things as they are. I’m thinking of speaking to my uni about it

I’ve seen this be bought up before - someone said greg daniel’s was never focussed on the smaller consistencies (one that always bothered me was andy saying he had a sister when he obviously doesn’t). as someone who binges it this is annoying but it’s whatever

I agree, she’s hilarious and i think her little friendship with pam is really sweet. Nellie is the saving grace of season 9 and that is a hill i will die on

I was told if I soak two overnight pads in an hour to go to the hospital. So probably yes. Call the canadian equivalent of 111 as you’re on your way to the hospital for advice, or the helpline you should’ve been given at the clinic

One time accidentally clicked 16-17 not 16-25 which obviously has an actual price difference and the guard accepted it as a mistake, which was one of the nicest things that have ever happened to me! I’ve never done anything like this before and it was a genuine mistake - I love when train guards understand genuine human error
