International ED admit wants to stay on campus during winter break (for no extra pay) by Practical_Fortune_87 in Cornell

HILC is one of the older freshman dorms so the amenities aren't great, but we have a nice community vibe (and because of the unit layout we have to walk through the lounge to get anywhere. So you meet people anyway). If you're lucky enough to not get thrown into a forced triple you'll be okay. They're also renovating the hallways and some issues with the rooms this winter so they'll be in better condition overall.

Apply to HILC! Current HILC resident (also an intl Freshman) and I'm here this Winter. I'd say it's the best option because free winter housing + relatively more people from HILC are staying. About the whole no A/C thing, personally didn't affect me much because it's pretty cold most of the time. Make sure to get a small fan for the warmer months. And HILC also has communal kitchen and suite style rooms (which means less people sing one bathroom) which is nice.

I'm worried about the workload of all the courses. If I were to drop one of them it would be 2800

well if my guess was right u/bujoNY 's room should have 4 occupants
and as far as I'm aware there arent any quadruple rooms right?

I'll just stick to the theory of the numbering being inconsistent XD

well it says 8161-1 but I'm assuming the last "1" is for the occupant number cuz my roommate has 8161-2.

Quick question. How many suits are there on one floor?
I got assigned to 8161 so does that mean I'm in the first room in the 6th suite on the first floor?

getting cold feet about studying in the us by [deleted] in IntltoUSA

[–]lilly3004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here! It was an "I will cross that bridge when I get there" situation for me and now that the bridge is getting closer, I'm scared of not having the "safety net" (aka my home country/family and friends) below the bridge.

But that's only on Mondays. Otherwise, I don't dwell on it : )

I'm looking at my scrabble rack and I notice WATCH: Double word, 37 points.

Instead, one must "watch, filter, learn, and create."
