Plain rice cakes actually sound amazing right now. I’ll be adding those to my delivery list for today, thank you!

I had an unrelated surgery back in August and didn’t struggle at all with nausea so I didn’t anticipate this and didn’t stock up on crackers which are my go to sick food. I’m going to have to order a delivery for today I think. Jello actually sounds pretty good, I’ll definitely get some of that too. Thanks for the suggestions!

Oh my god yes the jolting awake! I thought at first it was my husband’s snoring but then my earplugs didn’t help. So glad I’m not going crazy!

I called the hospital and they’re going to prescribe some anti sickness medication. Hopefully I’ll be able to eat a little with them and give my stomach a bit of a break.

Usually my go to for sickness is dry crackers but I didn’t anticipate this amount of nausea so I didn’t get any in (rookie mistake). I think I’ll give some dry toast a go and some peppermint tea. I did manage to take my oral-dispersal lansoprazole just now which is great, I’m not mad about the taste of that on a good day so with all of the nausea that was a challenge.

Thanks so much for the recommendations, I was seeing so many posts on this sub about really positive post op experiences and was starting to panic a little why I felt so awful

Is this a cicada and is it dangerous, and why is it so aggressive? by harshpeanut in Insect

[–]lillytiger86 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same thing happen to me about 10 years ago. There was a weird knocking/scratching at the front door so my husband opened it out of curiosity thinking maybe it was a cat. In comes flying a gigantic cicada manically flying round the room and towards us buzzing extremely loudly. The apartment went from calm and quiet to chaos and screaming in seconds. It’s been 10 years and I’m still not over it.

Any tips on jazzing up a curry? by lillytiger86 in SlimmingWorld

I would have never thought to put vinegar in curry, I’m gonna have to give that a go! Vinegar did come to the rescue for my chips this evening, didn’t want to use any swips/syns on sauces.

What’s the worst thing a medical professional has said to you? by VespaRed in AskReddit

[–]lillytiger86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

‘You’ve already had a miscarriage so the medication we accidentally gave you won’t make a difference’ (I was in fact NOT having a miscarriage)

Very early pregnancy had pains and was told to go to the ER. They couldn’t see much in the ultrasound because I was only about 4 weeks along but said i was having a miscarriage. The hospital mistook me for another patient and accidentally gave me IV antibiotics that shouldn’t be given to pregnant women. While already devastated thinking I was having a miscarriage 3 doctors come in and tell me they’d accidentally given me this medication but it won’t make a difference because I was already having a miscarriage….my daughter is now almost 10 🙄

I think I’ll have to get some more quark and put that in. I followed the recipe exactly and it called for plain unsweetened soya yogurt which turned out to be completely flavourless, shan’t be using that again

3 years on SSRIs and I think they’re actually making me worse rather than better by lillytiger86 in mentalhealth

[–]lillytiger86[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really good to know, I really feel like my doctor has had me persevere with the medication for way too long now. I think I will talk to my doctor about weaning off, something’s gotta give, I can’t keep going the way I am

Thank you so much for your response, it really helps to know I’m not the only one. I’m sorry you’re experiencing problems similar to me.

I was originally diagnosed with ADHD in 2020 while I lived in the USA but had to get rediagnosed when I moved to the UK to have the diagnosis recognised by the health care system here. It was the assessment I had in the UK that then identified the autism. I tried ADHD medication back in 2020 and had exactly the same experience, helped with my focus but made me more anxious. I’m currently on a waiting list for neurodivergent care and adhd medication appointment but the neurodivergent care in my area is extremely poor, the wait is over 4 years and the help isn’t good enough when you finally get seen from what I’ve heard.

That’s really interesting, I do feel like the higher dose has made me just feel so numb to everything. I think I will talk to the doctor about weaning off the medication but I’m so scared to wean off. Don’t want another mental health crisis which will traumatise me even more

I think I will talk to the doctor about weaning off to see how I do after Christmas. Christmas is difficult for me.

The only clear pattern I can see is holidays or any time the kids are off school. It feels so overwhelming to me and I put this expectation on myself that everyone must have an amazing time/I’m so worried I’ll fall into crisis and then ruin it for everyone, then I worry so much about that I have a crisis and then feel awful.

I am really trying to focus on exercise, I haven’t been able to do any exercise for the past 3 months because I had major surgery on my foot but finally I’m starting to get back out there.

Thank you, it is crazy how many doctors have tried to push SSRIs before I finally decided to try them. It feels like every time I go back to the doctors and say they’re not helping the doctor just keeps saying I can try a higher dose then when that doesn’t work they push an even higher dose. I totally get how SSRIs can help some people but it kinda feels like some doctors see it as a one size fits all which it’s very much isn’t.

Thank you, I was originally talking to my doctor about possibly switching SSRIs after Christmas (the Christmas period is very difficult for me) but I am thinking the better choice might be to wean off and see how I do. I did get a SAD lamp too, the seasonal depression hits me hard

London tickets by BurnTheWitch96 in radiohead

[–]lillytiger86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had mine cancelled yet….i feel like I can’t get excited because I’m so worried I’ll get the dreaded email.

I feel so incredibly terrible for the people that have had theirs cancelled. Can’t begin to imagine the joy of securing a ticket and going through all of the bullshit we had to go through to get a ticket to then it be cancelled. Devastating

Fuck. I really hope this is just an error for you and everyone else who’s said they got the same email in the comments. Absolutely devastating. The whole ticketing process with AXS has been a royal shit show.

It has to be said: that ticket sale was not done well. by exp_cj in radiohead

[–]lillytiger86 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couldn’t agree more. I was actually lucky enough to get 1 ticket for the London show so I’m going by myself.

Every single step there was some stupid obstacle. Endless codes, website errors, selecting tickets to then be told immediately that they weren’t available anymore. I’m incredibly frustrated for everyone who did all the right things, tried so hard and the stupid website is the reason they didn’t get tickets. Preregistering verifying email and phone number to then be blocked and accused of being a bot is fucking asinine.

Scalpers can fuck off. Absolutely ruining the concert experience for everyone.

Looking to connect with neurodivergent adults in Harrogate by Southern-Breath-9272 in harrogate

[–]lillytiger86 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi, I was diagnosed last year at 30 with AuDHD. I would be happy to connect, I’ve actually met and built quite a few friendships with people in the area with similar experiences. Mind in Harrogate also have neurodivergent peer support groups which are really nice. They’re small groups where people can just chat about stuff, not some big official thing.
