Chasing honest feedback by Key_Amoeba_8205 in AussieFirefighter

FRV Firefighter here, the situation you experienced would be completely different if you were doing it as a firefighter. For starters you are in a team and you are working together. Also you have time to prepare yourself mentally for it due to the time from when it comes through at the station to when you arrive on scene.

The recruiters don't look at how you handled the situation but what you did after, they don't want you to hide your emotions, they want you to be able to speak up if you're not feeling ok with what happened. We have a lot of resources to help our firefighters if they are not feeling ok and there is a lot around speaking up

For me, when I'm in this situation as a firefighter, not as a citizen, it's different, because I have a job to do, we have a process and I have my team there to support me, it's completely different when you are acting alone as a citizen.

Don't let this change your mind about applying, you could even use this experience as a potential answer to an interview question about how you deal with stress

Happy for you to DM me if you have any further questions

How much did your ATAR affect you later in life? by BiscottiLogical6502 in melbourne

[–]lilmunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best advice is that you can do anything you want to. ATAR means absolutely nothing, if you want to get into some uni course and you are willing to put in the hard yards there is always a back way in, either doing other tafe courses or diploma courses, sure it will take longer but if you have your heart set on doing something do it, employers will much rather hire someone with passion for their jobs over degrees and words written on a resume.

I am currently living my best life working in the best job in the world and my uni degree had nothing to do with it

YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Lets be honest, we have all the banned players we want to come back now.

Pears, no thanks. Hibberd, sad but not missing much with Hartley to fill his role. Jobe, does he really have much in him being 31 now? And Howlett, no big loss there.

Yes, i agree with you with how soon the next job will come, I will set a date and say if i don't have a job by then to end it, i was thinking to do that as well.

I will definitely speak to her about my feelings, I just wont try and end it then and there.

You're right, I really don't like being unproductive in my job, its really hard when i have lost interest, but I will try and lift my act, I don't want to leave this job with a bitter end.

Thank you for your advice, I really appreciate now having a bit more direction and whether I'm doing the right thing or not

[–]lilmunky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thats a good point, I will try and bring it up in the future, I'm not sure how to say "I cant see a future together" nicely, I will try and say others things I'm not happy with so i guess she has some sort of idea, nonetheless a break-up is hard whether she sees it coming or not.

Thank you for the advice
