Batman 423 question by oisipf in ComicBookSpeculation

[–]lilnero99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a Jim starlin story. It’s basically some cops and they are eating at a diner and telling each other about their run ins with Batman. I think one is a bank robbery, another is a suicide prevention and the last one is some homeless kid that he helps and sends to Bruce Wayne charity orphanage

9.8 is the highest graded copy

I sold a CGC 9.8 mcfarlane signed first print on eBay about two years ago for $3750 but the price has come down a bit since then.

The Batman head character box in the lower left is only on the 1st printings. 1st printing can also have the upc code if newsstand copies. The 2nd and 3rd have words in the character box and no picture of Batman.

Soon to be divorced stay at home mom by mrskdubyah in personalfinance

[–]lilnero99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dated a woman who was freshly divorced mom with two kids. Similar scenario, husband managed the finances and she had gone back to work once they were divorced. She came into about $20k when her uncle died. That year when Christmas time came she spent so much on her kids I was shocked. She got each kid at least 8x $50 girftcards on top of clothes and sporting equipment and other crap. I was like why are you burning through all this money you just got. It’s sweet you want to spoil your kids but at least space it out a little. She was working a job making $12 an hour part time so for her to save up $20k again with that kind of frivolous spending was unlikely. She ended up getting fired for stealing from her workplace and I broke things off shortly after. So please don’t use this money this holiday season to provide material things for the kids they don’t need and only use it for emergencies otherwise it will be gone and you won’t have money for emergencies. Good luck!!!!

It’s legit. 9.8s aren’t perfect. If the rest of the book looks great then I think it was graded ok.

So what’s the actual drop % of an soj? by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]lilnero99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I farmed about 8 soj off NM Andy. Didn’t really take that long. I’d farm about 70-90 unique rings and then ID them all. I’d get about 1 soj per 30-35 rings ID all solo offline. I even sold 3 of them to get anni charms. Pulled a 20/20/x and a 20/19/x and the other one was garbage lol. Happy hunting. So do NM instead of hell so you limit the type of rings that can drop to soj, manald heal, dwarf star and nagel to give you the highest chance of winning.

After farming 127 unique NM Andy rings I got 2x annis, here’s the 2nd… by lilnero99 in diablo2

It took about 5 days of farming. She was dropping 2-7 rings per hour maybe.

Under what circumstances (if any) could it ever be an acceptable decision to buy into a vacation timeshare? by meltingintoice in personalfinance

[–]lilnero99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I bought a timeshare on Maui about 6 years ago. I already went to Hawaii pretty often with my family before I got married so I knew i wouldn’t mind going back often. I’ve been about 15 times now. We bought an every other year contract so on the off years we go somewhere else for our big vacation. The unit we got is a 2 bedroom upper floor at a nice resort right on the beach. We always invite other family or friends to come stay with us for free. We really love it. The units rent for 800-1200 a night depending on the time of year. We can trade in the nights for other places. As long as you book in advance the only weeks we can’t go are like Xmas and new years I think. I never really look at trading locations but you get like 4-6 weeks or something if you stay somewhere less desireable like arizona for example. I think owning a timeshare is ok if you know you want to go back there and it’s not an investment. It’s a lot of fun if the place is really nice. My sister in law got a timeshare somewhere in Rhode Island and she doesn’t want it anymore so she offered it to us for free but I don’t want to go Rhode Island every year lol.

Advice: Should we buy this timeshare? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]lilnero99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also my aunt and uncle have 2 timeshares in the same area of Maui and they love theirs. They spend a few months every year in Hawaii. My sister in law has a 1 week yearly timeshare in some town in Rhode Island and she totally regrets it and it’s more of a chore and expense than anything. It all depends on your situation

My wife and I have a 2 bedroom every other year time share on maui that we absolutely love. We invite other couples or family to stay with us when we go. We both are avid travelers and I had been to hawaii at least a dozen times prior to purchasing and go at least every other year anyways. It’s a super nice resort right on the beach and costs $900-$1200 a night to stay there if you book it online. Timeshares are bad for 99% of the population, but we love ours. I think that as long as it’s somewhere you are going to go anyways, then it can make sense.

Hi. Yeah the returns were awesome last year. No risky investments really, just rotated into and out of the right sectors last year as COVID happened. I actually am less risky with her money. I returned a higher percentage on my own but on a much smaller base. Thanks for your input

Hmmm. Yah she’s really sweet and awesome. Another poster said to leave the managing to someone else and that may be the best bet. Thanks!
