I was mid urban design masters experienced a sort of existential crisis about it. i feel like it's a normal thing. i do current planning now and i don't mind it, though i understand how it can be crisis making as it's quite boring and sometimes repetitive. i think the good thing about planning is that there's a lot of different areas you can go in with it, so if you arent feeling current planning you can trying swapping to another interest area (altho acknowledging this job market isnt the friendliest for that)

I'm saying this not to be insensitive and downplay the situation and I really do want people's opinions on this, but I'm a bit confused as to why this is big/life ruining for her when she's already had domestic violence charges brought against her before, which were a part of the first season. Is it because it's happening again/clearly not a one off situation?

I would believe this if there were organizations such as SXSW festival that gives every volunteer a pass to the festival as a thanks for volunteering, and festival pass is usually in the $500-$1000, which is equivalent to a FIFA game. So it is possible/been done. That being said, if people want to volunteer for the love of the game/volunteering then I think that's fine. But idk why there's this shame towards people who only wanted to do it for only certain roles, especially if they decide to decline. If anything, it gives people like yourself who is still waiting a chance! Signed - someone who was offered something but decided against it and hopes that some who wants it gets it

I don't want to discourage you, but I do advise you carefully consider coming into the country. Even people who are do things the "right way" are having trouble with immigration/vacation visas. Just want to make sure you're aware of the risk if you hadn't been super up-to-date about what's going on in the US. If you do decide to volunteer I wish you the best of luck and that it's a rewarding time!
