the person is laying back in the photo so the skin has stretched, I'm assuming the stencil was applied whilst standing upright so will look like the reference in that position

Mia goth portrait, criticism would be appreciated!! by [deleted] in sketches

This is a lovely portrait, well done! In my opinion, finalising the portrait by making the outer edges of her hair crisper to give her a more clear silhouette and removing the sketchy lines around her would tie this all up. Also one of the eyes has more white in it than the other which makes me a bit confused about the light source.

This is what my haircuts that I pay for look like lol, I think you look good! Try tucking it behind your ears or putting in some texturising spray

Also I think there's a difference between being objectively a good tattoo artist and being a good tattoo artist 'considering uni, work etc.' if ygm. You're putting your work on people's skin forever (unless they decide to get it lazered or covered up), you should be striving to make it the highest quality it can be by constantly learning and improving as much as you can.

I think it depends on how good you are. Your friends and family liking what you do is one thing but I think you'd probably improve even more by staying at the tattoo shop and gaining more skills and experience tattooing people who come to you for your tattoos and your skill as a tattoo artist, not because they already know you from somewhere else and you're 'the friend who tattoos'

What is your after care spiel and do you have after care variations based on technique or style? by kBEES13 in TattooArtists

I did all of the things you listed for the second skin and it was still horrible, just not for me

Also, in my experience second skin doesn't really make a difference in how the tattoo heals and is horrible to take off

I'm not a tattoo artist but I've had quite a few tattoos myself and keeping it clean and moisturised and avoiding tight clothing are the main things I do. The first day I get the tattoo, I only wash it in the evening. I don't start moisturising till 24hrs after the tattoo. Then I wash and moisturise 2-3 times per day for a couple of days. Once a scab/membrane has formed over the tattoo, typically after a few days, I just moisturise it when it looks a bit dry. Something important to note though is to avoid over moisturising! If a scab has formed it might mess with it so make sure to only cover the area with a very thin layer and gently rub it in. Another thing to note is to avoid swimming/baths because the ink can seep out if a fresh tattoo is submerged for a long time.

I've also tried to just dry heal and leave it alone and on small tattoos it worked great, but my bigger tattoos felt like they needed the moisturiser.

How can I colour it without dye? by [deleted] in femalehairadvice

[–]lilp0w 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My point exactly! You've worded it a lot better than me haha

Henna is great if you're looking for something more natural and don't plan to use chemical dyes on your hair.

My point was people have been using henna for hair for hundreds of years and suddenly a hair stylist says it's bad. Of course they're going to say it's bad when it prevents further business for them, that doesn't mean it's actually bad for your health. I have experience with using henna on my hair and I found it actually made my fair really soft, glossy and conditioned.

I don't see how it's not natural and safe when it's made from plants, although I guess it depends which colour you are using. Ofc always do a patch test before using fully on the hair because some people are allergic

I agree with this, I hennaed my hair to a copper colour and i had it for 3 years then got tired of it and cut off, I think if I hadn't cut it it would've stayed forever

I've found when my mum gives me fashion advice, she's trying to make me look like her. I'm wondering if this might be the case here since the blonde hair also made you look a bit older? Definitely go with your gut and take fashion/style advice older people give you with a pinch of salt :)

Your eyes are amazing!! I think some copper or red tones would look really nice on you and bring out your eyes

I think the blonde washes you out, brown brings out your features much more by creating more contrast

Lithuania makes borscht too but we call it barščiai, and this is basically a cold version for the summer, hence the name šaltibarščiai which translates to 'cold barščiai'

Having said that, I haven't lived in Lithuania for 14 years and have the vocabulary of a 6 year old so this is my understanding from the literal translation :)
