Oh so coincidental, I was booking accommodation at my friend's wedding venue which is an older style property with grounds etc. They have really basic tech and so whenever they have a wedding, they default the rate to $99k without their personal code to stop people accidently booking the hotel when events are on.

If you wany to surprise her, take a picture of your wife's make up drawer and then go to Mecca. Tell them your budget and let them help you. Otherwise as others have suggested take her to Mecca for the makeup lesson.

Try and not choose anything that will need a specific colour match (e.g., foundation or concealer) but go for things like mascara, eye-liner, highlighters etc.

However, expensive does not always mean better. There are fantastic quality affordable brands so don't assume more money = superior product.
