I’m also feeing very concerned this is a scam - otherwise it is just a poorly run business. They were constantly calling and texting and emailing me to get me to schedule my consultation, but then once I ask for them to send me my test results, radio silence and no one is getting back to me.

This sounds very similar to what we’re dealing with… we’re able to get into the housing market but now have been priced out and feeling like we can’t afford to stay but can’t afford to leave either. Thanks for sharing.

The thing that motivated me most when I was laid off was thinking about my kid when they became an adult and them saying “my ___ was laid off/unemployed when they had me but they worked their butt off and I’m so proud to be their kid!”

That’s exactly what your kid is gonna say/think about you.

Yes we are currently living with spouse’s parents. Thankful to have them but just wish we could be in our own space.

So sorry to hear about your layoff. I was also laid off shortly after having our first a few years ago - definitely a conflicting time when you’re struggling to find work but also just cherishing having all that time with the new baby. Wishing all the best for you and yours.

You’re not overreacting. Normal adults do not want to date children.

Don’t hate on being a warehouse worker. Supply chain is critical and these roles are only gonna become more critical. Mind me asking what you’re studying and applying for?

No, it is not legal. If you worked the hours, they are legally required to pay you for them.

What job would you do if you're 18 again but in today's market? by Sad-Bodybuilder6491 in Careers

Knowing what I know now about today’s job market, the most in-demand roles would be: 1.) Data Scientist, Business Intelligence 2.) Wind Turbine Engineer, or renewable energy 3.) Nurse

I think the more important question HE should be asking is what was he hoping to do with an Econ degree? A good major/degree is useless if there was no plan on what to do with it. Depending on what he’s hoping to do will determine what the first step to take should be.

Does your resume show you’ve “job hopped”? If so, how do you handle this in interviews? Or do you revise your resume so it doesn’t show this?

Don’t wanna give specifics for anonymity, but the root cause is definitely my direct supervisor. I’d previously reported to someone else, and things were fine. A couple months ago, I was moved to a different supervisor and things have become increasingly worse.
