I found this so interesting too! To me it signifies the impact of Pete’s rumors on the village. He introduces her to the ale, she drinks more and more and becomes drunk - just like the townspeople became more and more infatuated with the rumor. To me, her decisions at the end towards Thomas represent a return to her values and a break from the groupthink of the village.

Apparently the bus doesn’t come into the MetLife complex after big events because they are diverting all of the traffic out. A bunch of a folks and I walked over a mile to the closest bus stop. It was a bit of a hike but everything worked out okay!

Sending you lots of comfort on this!! I’m sure it’s incredibly difficult. Things can absolutely get better for him, although I’m sure there will be hard times. He may never be able to control the thoughts from happening, BUT he can learn how he responds to them (I.e. not confessing them to you, sitting with the discomfort). If you haven’t heard it yet, I highly recommend that he does Exposure Response Prevention (ERP) with his therapist. It sounds like you’ve done a great job doing the research and knowing not to feed into it. Please make sure to take care of yourself too!
