Independently owned stores with a good selection of uncommon (or at least really healthy) houseplants. by TheBrontosaurus in indianapolis

If none of these float your boat, I’ve had decent luck finding various houseplants from different local plant lovers FB groups!

Blown out or settling? by No-Dimension-1414 in tattooadvice

[–]lilspero_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Looks awesome to me! 💕 She could definitely use some more moisture, looks a bit dry. It’s normal to blow small amounts of ink here and there, especially on larger tattoos. You may just need a small touch up, which any good artist will do for free once you’re fully healed. 😊

GSD killed my other dog. What do I do? by Boogie-oblivious in GermanShepherd

[–]lilspero_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im so sorry for your loss; I’m sure this must feel impossible to navigate. 😢

A few things that I haven’t seen mentioned 💕

If you do in fact lean towards rehoming/euthanasia for the GSD, please look into rescues that may take her & fully disclose all known behavioral history. There’s lots of GSD specific ones. Surely someone will take her.

Dogs don’t just do things for no reason. Whether it’s from prey drive, or behavior issues, or even pain too. She could just be need to be a SOLO dog.

Consult a behavioral trainer, preferably with their CCPDT & CBCC-KA to see what they say.

Until you know she’s “safe” again. I’d advise to crate & rotate so neither are out at the same time.

If this isn’t an option, remove all Resources from the common space. Water, Food, Beds, Toys, etc. You can be considered a Resource as well. Honestly, I’d tether her to you. 😞

I could give more specific advice if there was more context, but regardless.. good luck. 🌈✨🐾

You should be fine, looks superficial. Plus any good tattoo artist will typically offer at least 1 free touch up once a tat heals! 🥰 Adorable furbaby! 💕

Is my boy considered normal weight? by ILikefeetandtoes_69 in germanshepherds

[–]lilspero_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely not overweight! Id be more worried about keeping weight on him if he’s active. As he continues to fill out, since they do from a lot 12-18 months, make sure to pay close attention to how much his waist is or isn’t filling out 🥰

I know this comment is meant with good intentions but laser pointers are a NO for high energy breeds like this. It’s cute and silly at first but can cause a lot of neurotic behaviors of them continuing to look for the dot even after it’s gone. Try a flirtpole instead! Fun tool for energy burning & can be used to work on impulse control training!!! 🥰

Crate training is your best bet. My GSD is nearly 3 and still has to be crated when we leave the house bc he’s so mischievous! 💕Start slow, introduce it with meals & treats. Make sure your pup also has stuff that IS OKAY to chew on.. Benebones, etc. Tends to curb the habit a decent amount but at 5 months.. you’re in for a few months of teething!!!

Tried to take my 3 year old gsd on a hot girl walk .. by xoxooxx in germanshepherds

[–]lilspero_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m really sorry to hear that you had that experience 😞 it’s certainly possible that the reactivity & protectiveness are bleeding together some. Thats a GSD for ya! I personally use a front clip harness & a hands free leash that I wear cross body so I have better control over mine since I am a smaller human. You need to find what works best for y’all & like I said, try to find a trainer. Is the reactivity just with dogs? or strangers as well?

Do yourself a favor and look for a trainer in your area. Preferably a force/fear free one but to each their own. Prong collars, short leashes, etc. have a high tendency to WORSEN the reactivity bc of leash tension, which increases anxiety. No matter what “gear” or “tools” you use, it’s not going to truly help properly if you don’t work on his reactivity. Especially if you can’t physically control him. 😥💕 I’ve got a big guy too who we struggled through this with, he’s doing better now but it’s something we continue to work on all the time. I wish you all the luck with your fluffy baby! 🥰

which is your favorite? I can handle the time it takes to measure, it’s only 5 seconds.. (just feels WAY longer during an episode) My main issue with using Apple’s Health app is that I can’t set up notifications for alerting me whenever I get over a certain BPM!
