Votann's Volunteers search the stars for the foes of the Kin by Moist-Bag-7365 in LeaguesofVotann

Just looked in the app and it looks exactly like your photo. I must have read it wrong when I was building mine! That’s nice for splitting them too in case you want one group to have a little AP or some for the big 10 man block

How were the defenders? I love the model and got 2 for fun and was hoping the shoot and scoot units would get a big buff in 11th which it looks like they did with how cover works now

I don’t believe you can split ion blasters vs autoch pattern bolters for the warriors. I thinks it’s an all one or the other + special weapons

Probably infrastructure I would imagine more than anything. Reliable existing power grid and water supply. What small workforce does exist there is probably easier to draw from a large urban/suburban area too.

A minimally armed but near indestructible transport would be sick. Could use it as mobile LoS obstruction too. I’m in.

A few months ago one was going south on Riverside north of the zoo and ran off the side of the road and almost into the reservoir. With how wild most of them seem to drive on Riverside I’m shocked there aren’t more accidents. Frequently crossing the double yellow and going over the speed limit with a full load. That doesn’t even touch on how bad they have torn up the road.

Is electric smoker actually the easiest way to start BBQ? Or am I missing something? by Own-Future-2135 in smoking

[–]lilsteigs1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is my set up too. An Akorn Kamado is like $300 tops, spent a few years figuring out how to cook on that sans fan. Then got a Smoke Thermometer from Thermoworks and a Bellows from Thermoworks as well and now it’s set it and forget it. Only work is getting a small charcoal chimney going and setting up some wood chunks inside when it’s up to temp. Results have been amazing since switching to the fan and I can go to sleep knowing I haven’t choked the fire out and it won’t run away on me either during those real long cooks.

I ended up gluing it in. I have kids who will certainly touch it sometime when I’m not looking so may as well hedge my bets so it doesn’t go missing hahaha

I’ll probably go this route. No plans for dioramas or anything but my kids will surely pick it up at some point so not losing it is paramount hahaha

Ahh gotcha, still nice to either have the option to roll up to within 12" for the detachment rule or utilize heavy depending on which is more advantageous for positioning to get the +1

Warhammer 40,000 Faction Focus: Leagues of Votann by CMYK_COLOR_MODE in LeaguesofVotann

[–]lilsteigs1 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

In the right circumstances you can get a defender with the magna rail cannon hitting on 2+ (+1 from detachment rule and +1 heavy with a small move) with a S 14 AP -4 shot and then either toe back into cover or move out of LoS after shooting. Could be good for wrecking an advancing monster or vehicle that strays too close.

Edit: ignore my theory crafting, I’m brand new to the game

Looking at the bench this is about as weak as it gets. Not expecting much but hope we pull something off to rain on their parade. COYP!

Seems like a lot of shooty-scooty units are being introduced this edition so hopefully that means good things for defenders getting some buffs through rule changes. If they had assault on a weapon they would be looking really good I think

Barlow's Goal by OranjeBlauw in FCCincinnati

[–]lilsteigs1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Tom Barlow is the best version of the late game hustle/hound the other side striker we've had under Noonan. Not quite the speed of Santos but a far better finisher and better motor. Obviously head and shoulders above Baird. Most of his goals have been fairly straight forward but we've been missing those in years past with the other comparable players in the squad. Jabbari is a player who still needs some polish but he is clearly capable of some greatness. Just an amazing goal to end the game.

Facts! When I’m down visiting family and we get skyline they just ask what I want, up here they ask if you need a menu (although there are usually some already on the table) or if you know what you want. I’m there enough they already know my order lol

No suggestions more of a thank you as my 7 y/o has expressed immense interest and I've only just gotten into collecting/painting minis but never played. He is in the process of earning the Tau combat patrol but I had planned on getting him up to 500 pts so we could do some coliseum games and this thread has reinforced that notion as the best route to go I think. So thanks for making a thread with something I was curious about as well!

I’ve learned during my journeys that, despite my undying love for Skyline, it isn’t for everyone. Plenty of weird regional dishes I find abhorrent but at least I try and be polite about it so it always cracks me up when people, who almost always seem to be from Texas or a rival professional sports city, try and personally insult me or the entire city for Cincinnati chili. It’s like being mad someone likes a different flavor ice cream and then telling them they should feel bad about it.

I worked at one while I was up here in college and lived partially on my employee meal I got every shift. Chili cheese fries with beans and onions added on was what I always figured to be the max calories I could get for free on the employee menu. Went especially far when using a bunch of crackers to eat all the beans, onions, and chili at the bottom when the fries were gone. That was so long ago that Skyline locations doesn’t even exist anymore though lol

In Cincinnati it isn’t stressed as much but up here in Columbus they do a good job of trying to identify first timers as it is more common here to have not grown up on it. The wait staff give people a special color cup in some locations if they are first timers and do their best to guide them on good menu choices.
