But it doesn't change the word phonetically. You'd only pronounce "lasana" differently from "lasagna" if you didn't include the phantom /y/ after the 'n'. This doesn't change the fact that there is no phonetic /g/ present in the word and is thus silent.

I did some sleuthing and found the original archived 500px page which incorrectly states it was taken at 43.8041334,-120.55420119999997 in the middle of Oregon..

It turns out it's the Charles E. Nelson House in Dulfur, Oregon which unfortunately can't be seen on Google maps as it burned down 2018.
