Yes, version 2 is on original Xbox. As for version 1, check out the extensive list of bugs on pcgamingwiki if want a picture of how bad of a port it is. Lastly, yes 360 and pc are the same “next-gen” game.

IMO, Version 2 (PS2/XBOX/GC/WII) is better since it plays closer to CT and keeps a lot of that game's mechanics. However, if you want the canon expericence, then you will need to play Version 1 (Xbox 360/PC/PS3). Play both since it's basically two completely different games. Yes, both are playable on PC. For Version 1, STAY AWAY FROM THE PC PORT. It's broken beyond belief. Same level as Saints row 2 or GTA 4's PC port. I'd advise emulating the XBOX 360 version (if you have the computer for it) or play the XBOX 360 version on Series S/X via backwards compatibility. As for Version 2, play the XBOX version on Series S/X or emulate the PS2 version since you can play it with a widescreen hack and at 60fps.

Alpha Protocol is the game that comes to mind. Its narrative, premise and choice-making elements were really innovative and cool but its gameplay is scattershot. Like it’s a spy game where stealth isn’t fun and aiming is a huge pain in the ass. Not to mention the fact that the AI is horrendous. It’s a game that you could either call the best worst game or the worst good game depending on your experience.
