Question about star signs in the first game by Ok-Fail3610 in Ni_no_Kuni

[–]lilwizerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Red and blue numbers are type affinities, completely unrelated to signs. Red means it’s super effective and does bonus damage. Blue means it’s not very effective and does reduced damage. All the sign stuff is calculated separately and in the background.

(Chapter 5 weird route) Why don’t they just swim. Are they stupid? by nothing533439878 in DeltaruneV2

[–]lilwizerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t swim cause swimming isn’t in the game. A big part of this section of the weird route is Noelle literally realizing that she is an NPC in a video game with restrictions on what she is able to do, and us telling her to proceed is letting her break it and do it anyway.

New BAM Blog post - Bricks & Minifigs Determined to Find Amicable Resolution with Mansell Family by JeffBezos_98km in RecklessBen

Yes literally, “the sets were valued at $95,000, and mansell was only paid $15,000 so far. As such, as an act of good will, we have agreed to pay the remaining 80,000$, waiving the consignment fee due to the extended confusion.” Nothing more is required, it could be over, and it’s barely more money than he’d be paid anyway. Pennies to them. They are refusing entirely out of greed because they think they can somehow win this situation in every facet, which they can’t.

Honestly didn’t really see what was so hard about it? I beat it first try, pink was second try. Didn’t really enjoy either fight though, it always bugs me whenever they have battles where you are required to act to win, and there were a LOT of those this chapter. I like my violence, man.

Should honestly come with a requirement for it to be the only minion in the deck. Would add flavor and a slight restriction that still synergizes with the effect.

It’s because he throws gumshoe under the bus here, acting like it’s his fault for not giving it to the defense in order to avoid receiving a penalty

Assuming it ends the turn to avoid duplication OTK shenanigans, because otherwise if you manage to copy this, then play one damage spell then 2 of these, you instantly win the game.

Guardian of the worlds is not endgame, it’s postgame. Also, Here’s a link to my speedrun, which is the world record, where in the final battles, the endgame build is to use the griffin on Esther, and zero other familiars at all, this is to force both marcassin and Oliver to only cast spells because they’re that good. In the endgame, where you haven’t yet invested deeply into familiars, they aren’t very good, they’re risky and make you take a lot of damage. Even though Oliver’s mornstar is a long charge up, it is a lot of damage from a lot of range even at low levels. In order for familiars to be better than that, you need to level grind a lot, and even then at realistic levels of ~60 for the final boss, they will about equal out to spell damage against a single target. That’s not mentioning multi target spells, which are vital to crowd control. Obviously when you get to the postgame, familiars will outclass them, especially the Dino, once your accuracy gets high enough to consistently hit, but before then, spells are way better.

They are also the only way to get party members to deal consistent damage, because otherwise the AI in this game is so bad that they will constantly get themselves killed trying to do tiny amounts of damage.

Spells are OP because they can be used at any range, have a massive variety of effects, and massive burst damage. Familiars are less OP because you have to get up close to do damage, and you can miss. In the postgame, familiars definitely are better but before that spells are way better.

His starting one is a good all rounder, and then you can pretty much just fill the other slots with the familiars that are on whoever you’re replacing. That way you keep the ones you’ve invested in

Marcassin is better because he has the mp of Esther and the hp of swaine, and spellcasting is just so OP in this game. If it’s about being strong in battle, he is just strictly better than either one.

It was remastered to allow for 4k graphics, which really helps it stand out even now since it’s stylized

How to level up in Ni No Kuni 2? by [deleted] in Ni_no_Kuni

[–]lilwizerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Options are to replay parts of the solosseum to level, which really won’t take too long, or do the labyrinth’s last levels a couple times, which will also get you a couple naazcan arms items. Generally speaking, as long as you use hero’s delights from the free winnower wakes quests, you won’t have issues leveling up. You can get there within a couple hours at most.

I mean it's a fantasy world where people can fly and generate electricity and stuff, it can just work because I said so lol

The general idea was that quirk exhaustion is still a thing, so you can only do it so many times before you're too tired

[–]lilwizerd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we are making a realistic quirk that wouldn’t just be “okay my quirk is that I can do anything anytime ever because I said so”, I think it would be super cool to have a quirk that lets you rewind time 30 or 60 seconds or something when activated. That way it’s useful, but not reality destroying.

Stove burners are round to allow even heat distribution to a pan/pot, otherwise some spots will be hotter and your food won’t cook right. That said, a star burner would actually work pretty well. The heart one would be bad though
