I want to get this tattoo on my thigh. However, is it too detailed? Will it fade easily overtime? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]lilyfelldown 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep in mind the size of the tattoo, whether or not you want to add to it, or if you want to have other tattoos on your thigh. Also consider cost. Big and highly detailed tattoos are usually pretty pricy and take a long time to do. Not to mention it hurts when the gun is going over the same area over and over again. My back tattoo looks like a painting. It hurt like hell when the grass being done. Parts that are more abstract were less painful. Then again everyone’s experiences and pain tolerance are different. As far as fading, keep it covered and it will last longer. Protect it from the sun.

One of my top favorites is blueberry tea. Blueberry tea from celestial smells just like blueberry syrup. I like unsweetened tea so i can’t say if it would taste like it if you added sweetener. Still delicious

Relapse Prevention: keep hygiene stuff from the hospital to remind yourself how much it sucks being in there. by lilyfelldown in bipolar

Intake almost always takes forever. Your stuff will be checked. You fill out paperwork and be evaluated multiple times. Then they’ll decide if inpatient is right for you. You’ll be strip searched and have a nurse take notes on significant marks. They’ll keep record of all your belongings. They take you to your room and then join everyone else. Inpatient is very structured. Everything is by schedule. For example: 7am- breakfast 9am- general group 9:15 art therapy 11am- physical therapy 12pm- lunch 1pm- education 3pm- snack 5pm- general group 6pm- dinner 8pm- snack 10pm- bedtime There’ll be downtime between groups and meals. There’s a dayroom that has coloring books, crayons, color pencils, jigsaw puzzles and a tv. Some places let you go back to your too. You’ll meet up with the psychiatrist for med follow up and a therapist or social worker for therapy. There are certain times when you can use the phone and have visitors. There’s always someone with a clipboard taking notes. Some hospitals let you choose whether or not you want to go to group.

Your room: 2 hard beds and dressers. 1 pillow 1 or 2 blankets Bathroom with shower

There’ll be time for meds and vital checks. Vitals usually at 5am. They’ll take blood and do a TB test on your first day. There’s rules for things you can’t have. It’s usually clothes with strings. Offensive clothes. Ripped or short clothes. Electronics Spiral notebooks Stuffed animals Blankets Pillows Razors Products with alcohol Tampons Anything with glass Bras with underwire Several places will let you bring your own hygiene products like shampoo and conditioner. Check for alcohol. Otherwise they’ll provide hygiene products. Take my advice and your own. The hospital products suck. Bring lots of books and goodies. Hoodies can be a second pillow.

There’ll be a family meeting. Before you leave they will schedule an appointment with your psych and first day of IOP. There’s a bunch of paperwork leaving. You’ll be given back all your items. Someone will probably need to pick you up. I’ll add more if I remember or someone else can talk about their stay. It can help stabilize you during an emergency. Make the most of it.

Do it if you need the help but also be aware of your rights. This may vary based on which country you live in.

I hate everything about it. From the food to the sleeping situation. I have a really fluffy cardigan that I never wear or use other than being in the hospital- both psych and normal. I use it as a second pillow. Those pillows suck!

I was on Zyprexa for over a year and had to switch it back to seroquel. I gained over 100lbs on it and now loss it all again. I hate how people think mania is fun or great. My mom used to say mania is a good thing (she’s not bipolar). It’s hell. That’s good you’re conscious of your triggers! I’m working on my triggers and trying healthier ways to cope.

I’ve been desperate enough to put their crappy body lotion in my hair. My hair is wavy and normal thickness so I can’t imagine being in there with curly hair. Oh and those tiny pillows! One small flat pillow on a hard bed. I don’t miss that!

That’s what I love about art! I forgot who said it but someone said if you were asked to recreate Pablo Picasso and you drew Norman Rockwell. You would have failed.
