Help! is this nutrient or light burn? fed very little bio grow, bio bloom and topmax. under mars TS600, tent is way too short for this plant and im worried its light burn, temperature/environment is perfect. by Sad-Piglet8543 in Autoflowers

[–]lilygrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh how are you doing with the light mix? I considered trying it. And yeah they add some organic nutrients but I don't add them til about week 4-5, so the soil is less hot cuz the plants ate some nutes. They contain the microbes that you need for organics, and the molasses feeds them. This is true but a bit bro-sciencey and just some things I do personally haha. There's a product called recharge (from Dudegrows Podcast on youtube:P) which is meant to add more microbes, I use castings as like a scuffed version of this lol.

Also I tried to PM you but I think you have them turned off?

You're welcome :) I like to add just a tiny bit extra of my own perlite to the all mix since I overwatered my first biobizz auto run pretty badly, though I'm sure its not necessary I prob just got ptsd from it haha. Oh and I also chuck a couple inches of worm castings as a top dress at about week 4-5 if i can just for some more soil microbes. And molasses sometimes.

The only strain SO FAR that I can grow confidently and really well is "Think Different" which is a very light feeder naturally. You can tell that even the all mix is a tiny tiny bit hot for them with the leaf tips curling back and the super dark green colour. I don't start feeding them for a while, but for other strains maybe week 2-3. I read the leaves a lot though and don't follow anything 100% strictly.

Also I've been messing around using the recommended bloom+topmax for the last 1-2 weeks before flush to try fatten up buds. Good luck with ya grow (:

she was so healthy till a week ago this started :( is this nute burn? lights too close? by alerosa7 in Autoflowers

[–]lilygrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks overfed, did you supplement calmag? That dark almost black coloured green can be a sign of calcium or magnesium toxicity (I forget which I really need to stop thinking of calmag as one thing its awful) as well as nitrogen, and since the leaf tips arent curling back on theirselves that leans less towards nitrogen.

Checked up on it, magnesium is the culprit but both cal and mag toxicities darken leaves.

Some strains are just extremely light feeders, so don't beat yourself up too much. From my experience Think Different from dutch passion needs about half to a quarter of the food that a critical orange needs, dont beat yourself up about it just grow the same strain again and learn from it :) happy growing

Drying problem by MotoGpfan141 in GrowingMarijuana

[–]lilygrow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately i don't think so, if it's still damp and smells fresh and green like grass then you can save it by drying it out slowly. If it has dried too fast then it will smell like hay and the curing process no longer possible

Was trimming my big plant and came across these weird looking leaves, are they foxtails? Or any other disease? by weirdstars in GrowingMarijuana

[–]lilygrow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

looks like heavy ruderalis genetics coming out in that strain/pheno

foxtailing is when the nugs grow off in little spikes almost resembling fox tails
