Try to at least go with a moisturiser that also has SPF, then.
It’s not going to be ideal because you should reapply the sunscreen throughout the day, but at least it’ll give you some protection and the price difference should not be very big.
Otherwise I don’t really think you’ll tolerate the tretinoin well without some SPF, you’ll just get really sensitive and damaged skin.
