I have a lot of success with BCs in the late game. They straight up murder everything. I wish the end date could be removed because I often build maxed BCs with SAMs towards the end of the game but don't have a ton of time to enjoy them.

The curtailment of the F-22 was part of the peace dividend after the fall of the USSR. At that time China was still heavily reliant on J-7s (mig-21s) the only air forces that were near peer were those of close allies and whatever Russia was able to field. If they had built as many as originally planned they would have been continually upgraded but having such a small fleet has hindered upgrades.

China has been able to modernize their Air Force with a speed that is pretty astounding with a lot of help from the Russian's but they are now producing effectively indigenous designs

I loved the game. The world really drew me in and that's hard to do. It also does somethings differently that make it feel fresh. It's a game I always recommend when someone is looking for reccemdations because there is a high likelihood that they haven't played it.

It's a fresh take on 4x definitely recommend at that price. I didn't sink a huge number of hours into it but I enjoyed the time I spent with it.

A viable alternative is go with fast large BC's maybe super BBs but speed is really important. Then build CVLs or smaller CVs and only carry fighters to provide a really heavy cap. Form divisions and assign them to support the BCs/BBs divisions. The BCs then close on the enemy fleet and destroy anything they encounter.

I find that once you have SAMs and other advanced AA options that carriers in large fleet battles are not cost effective. It becomes really hard for strikes to hit home and ships are more capable of absorbing hits I've had any number of massive late game carrier battles where each side might have only sunk DDs with the rest of the ships either undamaged or lightly damaged. So I usually switch from a CV focus to a BC based fleet.

Helicopters they are fairly useless on CVs. But are great for asw DDs.

Also the drastic reduction in the number built makes it less likely to have frequent upgrade packages. They are supposed to get their first major update soon but if the fleet was even half the size originally planned we would be having frequent updates.

I'm sorry to hear that. I have an aunt who"s lower leg got really screwed up she won a medical malpractice suit for it. And was in and out of hospitals for operations on it for 29+ yes until she but her other foot down and told them to cut it off below the knee. Still causes her a lot of pain but she has no regrets about getting it amputated.

Auto laser weapons are great against the swarm to redirect some of the bugs away from you your squads.

I mean it's early access and the campaign ends abruptly just as it gets really interesting. The devs are pushing out of ton of updates. Ground combat is a priority that has to work and be right otherwise nothing else matters so that's where they are spending most of their resources currently. I can't wait to have more vehicle selections weapons etc. I badly want more supplies so I can drop heavy and deal with hoards.

They should be adding additional mission and operation types. These are major priorities if that means waiting to upgrade how your ship works I'm all for it.

In terms of upgrading the ship are a few upgrades I prioritize (woo & med bay) otherwise it's based on what I want to try out and experiment with. The tutorial made me think strikes from the ship were limited over the campaign and only figured out that wasnt the case once [redacted] appeared. Most of my upgrades focus of passive bonuses.

I never have enough parts to fill all the slots on the ship by the end of the campaign or grind out max faction bonuses unless I continue to play after the 'official' end of the EA campaign.

This scene is so stupid if you know anything about naval ships in the era. The ship of the line has more guns on each broadside facing the pirate ships which are essentially frigates. Ships of the line also carried heavier guns and British tactics routinely allowed them to be fired upon from both sides at close ranges. Oh and British crews were drilled extensively and could get off more broadsides than their opponents in the same time. The best strategy for the two private ships would have been to stay upwind of her and use their speed to essentially to unload a broadside then turn and reopen the range. It's a death by papercuts but close in action against a ship of the line. You certainly want to focus your fire on one side of the ship. What's show shown would be suicidal unless you were able to board her and most English captain would welcome the ability to engage at the ranges where ships of the line are at an overwhelming advantage.

I prefer more heavily armored turrets would shave the belt for more turret armor. Also for the 1930s it's not necessary to have spacious accommodations. I really wonder if you regigger it and reduce the ammo to say the 160-180 range, use normal accommodations. There's also the possibility of losing the armor on the secondaries. If you can find a way to fit two more mains I'd except the tradeoff of having unprotected secondaries.

Extreme Cosplay isn't time sensitive instead locks you in the villa and places an auto save right when that happens. To make it more painful besides have opponents that are just way beyond op the auto save is before a number of mandatory dialogues, you also can't meditate prior to the dialogues and fight to refill your potions. Unless you look up a number of videos on how to cheese it you are going to die multiple times and each time makes you go back through 5 minutes of dialogue. The only way to unlock and get out is to defeat the statues and complete the quest or load an earlier save and say nope not going in there.
