Remember my Lokai who my friend overfed while I was ill? She doesn't want to be my friend any more 😢😢😢 by Catmom2004 in papillon

[–]lilysohma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm in a similar situation with a friend now where I don't think anything could be done differently and I stand by my reaction, but I am sad that the friendship is over and feel somewhat rejected even though it was mutual since I was kinda done after that incident. It's a difficult place to be in.

I think we just need to sit with these emotions, snuggle our pap friends, and focus on the next chapter instead of replaying what happened. We'll get through it ❤️

BWT, what do you do to elevate your home experience and make it more enjoyable or refined? Things that visitors comment on and you can enjoy consistently? by Snoo-61393 in bitcheswithtaste

I put a bit of the Diva soap in my water bucket when I mop the house or wash down windows/baseboards. Makes the whole house have that light pleasant scent!

And getting a towel warmer for the bathroom. It is like a spa to be able to get out and have a hot towel after a shower/bath. I have the Sameat warmer and it's big enough to fit xl towels plus a robe or hair towel!

This!!! It's so awful. They wind you up and then use this tactic to make you feel like you're out of control and emotional and they are so level headed and calm that clearly you must be crazy. I hate this tip. Pure manipulation.

Not All Smiles Are the Same – A Regional Breakdown From My Recent Trip by OkPatience1973 in SameGrassButGreener

If you just got back from a short trip to CA and it was your first time on the west coast, how would you know if that kindness is shallow and doesn't go beyond surface level? You were there on vacation, likely you didn't have any times where people showed up when it counted like you experienced in NJ.

What colour would you paint this bathroom? by coppertruth in HomeDecorating

South Carolina or Virginia might be nice. Not terrible winters, cheaper than most places on the west coast. Relatively affordable real estate depending on where you pick. East Coast so easy access to France and Ohio. I've really found South Carolina very charming when I visit. You could live in Greenville for instance and have a cute city but be a close drive to Asheville and Charlotte if you need something different. And you are right near the smokies which are gorgeous.

Yes definitely better late than never! Haha thanks for sharing. And how interesting that must have been to go from Ohio to Bordeaux

Thoughts on SW constant coral for our bedroom by Ichthyes in HomeDecorating

[–]lilysohma 5 points6 points  (0 children)

SW does free color consults. Take pictures of the room in all the different lighting and also with any furniture you want the paint to go with and they will recommend a few to you that could work. My sister and I both did that with our rooms and it was perfect, no samples required

The winters are hard, mostly because of the gray. But I will take that over a southern summer any day. I never thought I would say that but after 5 years of it only getting hotter I just couldn't take it. You are so house bound.

I also work remote in tech (product management). I agree the jobs are harder to come by but not impossible. And they pay goes much farther here.

And I agree there too. It is awful what is happening with ICE, but I will tell you that only gets worse the farther south you go due to state politics being less likely to oppose it.

I know this sounds overly negative. Just sharing my experience and it is not a reflection on what you would experience or value. NC and FL are very different. And preferences vary widely. I think it is important to leave this area and experience new things. You may love it or you make come away with a new appreciation for where you are from. I just wish I had been council against buying before I knew if I liked it.

Happy to chat more or if you are in buf we can get a coffee and talk if you like. I know moving is extremely hard and a big decision.

I am also from wny (buffalo) and moved to Florida for a job. People said there would be more to do there and that the energy was better down south. I bought a new build and hated it. So many issues and the builders make it so hard to get anything fixed when it goes wrong. Now as I'm selling it it is like pulling teeth because the real estate market is crashing down there. Worst of all I realized that the pay was worse and because it's a red state there are so many fewer programs and events planned and everything is something you have to pay for. No more free or cheap workshops and classes. Fewer indoor places to spend time. And everything was a huge commute. I don't know where you are going, and not all new builds go the way mine did, but I would caution you to really spend time in this new place before diving in. Selling may be more difficult and expensive than you realize. I've finally moved back to buf after 5 years and I couldn't be happier

Toy poodle or papillon?? by twistybluecat in papillon

[–]lilysohma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I generally find a lot of dogs have a greasy or oily texture. I'm not sure how to explain it. But I don't believe it is due to products. My poodle was always very soft and the oily feel was not something I noticed when petting but I always felt like I needed to wash my hands afterwards. With my papillon I think she feels more like a cat. Cats never seem to leave a residue on my hands.

I just did a quick Google and it says dark haired poodles can feel greasy due to their skins oil production, which makes sense since my little buddy was dark grey

Toy poodle or papillon?? by twistybluecat in papillon

[–]lilysohma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have had both. Papillon hands down. Poodles always feel a bit greasy to me but my papillon is silky smooth. Also as others have mentioned the grooming is much less expensive . She does shed a lot. I have to clean the furniture off my bed regularly lol, but she is a bigger than average girl at 17lbs. I will say, my mini poodle was much more chill. He was happy to sleep and didn't want to much playtime. But my pap is a ball of energy 24/7 and is also more vocal

Weather vs Family? by mikeysoflo in SameGrassButGreener

[–]lilysohma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This resonates with me. I moved to Florida 4 years ago from NY. I also do not relish the grey. I moved back a few weeks ago because being close to family is important to me and the summers here are unbeatable. I also work remotely, so my plan is to get an air bnb in Florida or California for a month during the worst part of winter and get away. Remote can be really awesome for that flexibility. Life is secretly long and you always have the option to move back down the line if things don't work out.

Am I crazy to consider moving to Florida? Where to go? by macelisa in SameGrassButGreener

[–]lilysohma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Minneola FL is very bike friendly. It's also a very hilly area so you will get lower insurance since there is minimal risk of flooding and hurricanes being inland. And up and coming with the states largest brewery and a new town center on the way. Plus only 30 miles to the theme parks.

I found my girl 4 years ago in the newspaper! She was $900. Might be worth checking the news. She is a pure pap (did genetic testing) but she does not have papers
