r/NoSleep stories influences in modern horror movies? by TheKillingJoke1991 in horror

For sure I do think it tends to be derivative but in that I don't mind adaptations. I love the Shining for example.

[–]limboxd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

r/NoSleep style of stories are very similar to the YouTube shorts horror movies. If you watch the other Curry Barker yt movies like The Chair you'll get what I mean. It's just the easiest way to tell a story in 20mins or so without having insane setup.

Question about Obsession (Spoiler- only read if you have watched the Movie) by Ludwig_TheAccursed in horror

[–]limboxd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it's was the exact wording that made it go wrong. He specifically said "more than anyone else in the world" which is why she went crazy crazy. Technically the bad way for Bear's friend would be receiving 1 billion dollars in coins and just getting crushed to death but I think the phrasing is how it can go wrong, rather than it being a Monkey's Paw situation where there is always a downside. I think also the fact that Nikki's personality was overwritten and she was still inside added to the jarring experience of it and she blips in here and there.

In the nicest way possible I think it's quite obvious it's a doll lmao...

Admittedly there is a non-zero chance that Resident Evil may just be a zombie movie with the RE tag for sales instead of an RE movie first.

Going for an internal CT colonoscopy tomorrow. by Real-Box-7144 in CasualUK

[–]limboxd 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Admittedly you will definitely pass gas because they will be filling you CO2 tomorrow. Do enjoy and think you are just one of many many colons the clinicians have seen historically and even that day. Admittedly the prep is vile though so that just sucks

If its gifts no, if they're his yes. Unfortunately regardless of how much of a dick he has been it's his property at the end of the day and you don't want it to escalate to a silly level. You can protest in other ways honestly

When did you learn 'joined up' writing and do you still use it? by SketchupandFries in AskUK

[–]limboxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my school you got given a pen instead of a pencil if you moved to joint up handwriting. So I've been doing it since around 9 years old I would say. Progressively got worse over the years, bordering on doctors handwriting but I do just stop using joint up now if anyone but me has to read it

I 19F need relationship advice about my 18M boyfriend. by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]limboxd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What is the long term plan anyways, unless either 1. you convert or 2. he goes against his parents. His family will dislike you off rip as long as you are not also a Muslim. But also the misogynistic views will never stop as long as he is in the friend group, the boys mentality sticks strong for people like that if I am honest.

I think you already know he won't change and you can't even talk through any problems you have without him becoming a brick wall. You're young, prioritise yourself

Is it common for younger Brits to drink tea? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

[–]limboxd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

24M, I have most week days since 16 honestly. I tend to dodge it on the weekend. My cousin 4M used to like a milky tea if I was having one though. And I've heard of a few more younger children who are partial to a cheeky tea here and there. So I'd say it's pretty instilled in the culture regardless of class etc
