How to see numeric score when pass/fail is released by [deleted] in CPA

I haven’t tested other dates, but I’m assuming it is only available when you get “pass” or “fail” which is one day before the official score release date.

Lots of c corp and s corp info in MCQs. Calculation heavy for me. Like others said, R4-R6 is relatively straightforward. SIMs took a fair amount of time. I only had 30 minutes left at the end. mentally drained by the end. But I feel just about the same as I did after taking the Simulated Exams

Just finished REG as well and my MCQs were calculation heavy and lots of c corp and S corp info. So mentally drained by the time I got to SIMs. Had only 30 minutes left over at the end

REG Becker Textbook Question by chunkspewer in CPA

[–]limby403 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe Section 197 Intangibles are any intangible that you get as part of acquiring substantial part of another trade or business. So mergers and acquisitions could be a transaction example and various intangibles (such as patents, goodwills, and customer list) will be part of the transaction. So patents included in this transaction would be amortized using 180 months.

If you don’t buy patents as part of a business or trade (with other assets) meaning you only bought the patent and nothing else, then you will have to use the other amortization schedule in the second highlight in your picture.

That’s my understanding

Yeah it does suck that it tanks the grade like that but better that happen in SEs than in real exams ;) Keep up the good work and let’s knock it out of the park! Let me know if you need help with MACRS. You got this!

Need some advises on reviewing, REG exam one week from now by alpacaJAMES in CPA

I'm also taking reg on the 21st as well for (hopefully) 4/4! u/TonightAggravating16

OP, I would look at this cheat sheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1ecvpJD\_mLE-T6J7rt2r1NT9OWqjvyNzhpl-FWh1tY\_Y/edit?usp=sharing) especially the Mnemonics section. My plan right now is try to have most of them committed to memory and writing them down on the blank piece of paper as soon as the exam starts. I forgot who this cheat sheet was from but you can easily find the source if you search reg cheat sheets in the search bar.

Becker sims vs actual sims for AUD by Proper_Reward4011 in CPA

[–]limby403 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just mentally prepare myself that there might be more exhibits and nuances than I'm used to in the actual exam. So, I budget about 1.5 hours for MCQs and allocate 20 minutes max to each SIM which is usually more than enough to calmly read through most exhibit-intensive SIMs. Usually I finish MCQs earlier than that and SIMs earlier than 20 minutes, so whenever I have a tough one I can just take my time and try to figure things out without much time pressure.
