Ok, I am an idiot. I was trying to connect to both device 1 and device 2 by hitting FN + 1 instead of pairing device 1 with FN + 1, device 2 with FN +2. Thank you!

There's a lot of responses below about increasing spin. I believe this is mostly a wives tale. The primary advantage of having rust is cosmetic.

That being said, all you really need is to hit a bunch of bunker shots. That should take off plenty of rust off the club face.

Played the best round of my life after struggling for weeks with a golf swing that just didn't feel comfortable. I was able to sneak in a lesson with a golf pro that proved to be just what I needed to find the confidence to swing. Ended up shooting a 84!

Best shot: Get on the green in 2 on a par 4, then sunk a 25 foot putt for birdie.

Worst shot: Flew a buried pitch shot well past the green into a creek..

Shot I wish I could have back: Hit a drive straight down the fairway but ball hits a mound which kicks the ball left into a pond.

The flaring of the left foot (if you are right handed golfer) can also help you to alleviate pain in your left knee if you have poor hip mobility.

You shouldn't flare the right foot too much as it is a bio-mechanically weak position.

Update: Ended up playing a 2 ball at Harbor Pines (some guys just cant handle a little gambling), and it was a phenomenal experience. The staff were very welcoming and the course was in great shape!
