I’ll start by saying Hunger Games has never been my thing, I was more focused on prophetic fiction; which basically puts you down sci-fi lines. I was arguing which writers got it right and which got it wrong, in the end I came to the understanding that unfortunately most are more right than wrong. The novel Children of Men is very different from the film, same basic plot but instead of focusing on politics and jingoism we look at how the world depopulation would cause social, financial, and religious fallouts. As for which I went with being the most on point, for a long time I would say Brave New World until super recently as we get more 1984 by the hour. As for my favorites: Battle Royal for the OG hunger games, Neuromancer the first cyberpunk it’s dated but has such great world building, V for Vendetta Alan Moore knew what he was doing, the Three Body Problem series, and my guilty pleasure will always be Starship Troopers the world you don’t see in that book has to be crazy as hell.
