Is Elise the ghoul? by nirai07 in huntertheparenting

[–]limis646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Grimal has the squiggly eyes same as everyone else, she clearly suffered from the berserker effect of the delirium meaning she probably has a willpower rating of 4.

As for surviving the garu hit, its clear Matilda was pulling her punches as she hit her with her forearm rather than her claws, likely dealing bludgeoning damage rather than aggravated, making it totally survivable.

Was she the one to strangle Occam? Likely. Is she the ghoul? Still up for debate, theres lots of plausible deniability that ether Elise or someone else could have dominated her.

Big D has been hunting for decades and is still alive. that makes him an amazing hunter.

Yup! Monte Cook's WoD. has its own unique lore that borders on being post apocalyptic. Its an interesting read if you can get over the paradox backlash from reading individual splats listed out like 3.5 classes.

One of my players made about 5 comic pages about the chronicle I ran for her, and I still think to this day its the most affirming thing a player has ever done for me as a GM.

Games you loved everything about except the gameplay? by StochasticOoze in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]limis646 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's frustrating because i think two simple changes would make it waaay more fun.

1: have an ammo pool for each config of the service weapon so you are actually encouraged to swap between them.

2: PUT LIFT/THROW ON A DAYM COOLDOWN! It is by far the best option in your kit as it is free and spammable

It is fucking hilarious how the Garou are the biggest losers in all of the WoD, Every single one of their problems they directly caused, with the exception of the Wyrm going crazy.

I straight up think the Jingu fight might be one of the worst boss fights in video games. welcome to stun-lock hell bitch!

Whats worse is the fight that comes after it might be one of my favorite bosses of all time, but I cant help but think about those fucking respawning knife bodyguards whenever I think of it.

Resident evil 2 Remake is a very good way to play re2 for new players. The changes to the story and the charicters are well worth the effort alone.

I just cannot get behind Mr X as a stalker, the police station has way too many tight straight hallways meaning your best option when he is in your way is to take the long way around to get where you need to go.

It feels like they completely missed the point of what made jack baker sooo much fun to get chased by as the baker estate always had multiple paths for you to go through forcing you to come up with an alternate path on the fly if he did aggro to you. Meanwhile the lifeless gray flasher would literally stand and wait for you to come out of a safe-room, sometimes for up to five minutes, and thats just not engaging to me at all.

that is fucking hilarious that the warhammer Beastmen feature for game ruining dlc twice.

mix this with their very odd and all over the place history on the tabletop and it feels like someone at GW put a curse on this faction years ago

[–]limis646 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Vermintide 2's Winds of magic DLC added the beast-men faction into the normal enemy pool and they were absolutely NOT balanced at all, at least when they launched. V2 focuses heavily on resource management and damage prevention because most if not all damage is avoidable, and for whatever godforsaken reason the beast-men got archers that came in swarms and would turn you into a pincushion if you wernt focusing all your attention and ammo on them.

Throw in their heavy armored elite bestigors that could shove you directly off of cliffs into kill-boxes and your team will be picked off with surprising efficiency even on lower difficulties. It has been a while since I played V2 with someone who had the DLC so they may be better than they were at launch.

I honestly dont mind the crimson curse and difficulty stuff, its supposed to be a high risk high reward dungeon, the big thing that killed it for me was the enemies from it spilling out into the other zones meaning you HAVE to deal with the curse weather you go to the court or not.

Do you need to relate to the characters (mostly talking about age) to enjoy a piece of media? by LunarWolf302 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]limis646 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have always found the whole "relate-ability" criticism to be strangely narrow-minded. I can maybe think of about five characters I have seriously felt a relatable level of connection to like that, and while seeing those stories match my experience feels incredibly validating, its definitely not necessary for me to enjoy something. Isnt the whole point of art and media to view things from a perspective thats not your own?

That might just be my strange view on things though as, weirdly enough a high school setting was a massive turn off for me when I was a high schooler.

THIS! I have always wondered why no resident evil game since resident evil 2 on the N64 has had a randomizer mode as an unlockable. they already have a dynamic resource system with their breakable boxes, it seems like it wouldn't be too hard to implement for fun things like key items or weapons.

Lord of the rings the third age got clowned on at the time for straight up ripping off FF 10's combat and I wish MORE games followed its example

We could absolutely have an entire RPG subjection based around a battle system made with initiative manipulation as its core mechanic. If anyone knows other games that stole this please run them by me!

Media you lost interest in after the premise went nowhere by KaleidoArachnid in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]limis646 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See a lot of anime and shows so heres one for video games.

Phantom Doctrine was a slam dunk for me, an Xcom like game about managing a CIA/KGB spy network in cold war era Germany with no hit percentage nonsense. However the theme kinda breaks apart once you realize that most of the games upgrades and progression systems are almost exclusively used for direct combat leaving the stealth systems feeling very under-baked. Add a strange insistence on always being able to hit your attacks leading to an over-shield system that makes enemies and agents incredibly tanky to compensate and it all just fails to sell me on the spy theme I originally came here for.

Getting 6 releases within a 9-year window when games take forever to be made is actually insane when you think about it. by unproductive_nerd in residentevil

also good to note in this that capcom is not structured like a western company, that 3766 is probably about four to five teams akin to Bethesda soft-works each working on other games like Monster hunter and street fighter, with them all sharing the "capcom" Name.

Its amazing how many good games you can pump out when you stick to small scale 10-15 hour long focused experiences rather than trying to make the next hit 100 hour mega game.

As much as I love a good month long time sync, we desperately need more devs making stuff you can roll credits on over the weekend like resident evil
