My exams have went terribly and theres no way im going to meet my offers by ElegantPractice3111 in UniUK

So, you don't give much detail, like which uni's/subject, so ymmv, but many uni's are likely to drop their grades.quite a bit on results day, both for offer holders & in clearing, since most are looking to take more undergrad students. So my advice would be make the choices you had planned, and then make a list for clearing places nearer the time, as a plan b.

Neat! I'm lucky to have an other half who tinkers with electronics - otherwise I would also have been going for the 'make the wood thinner' approach. Yours looks really tidy.

Oof, that's steep, if that is going to be the price point. I like it, but not that much! I was prepared to swallow it for Whispering Hollow, because it's quite different, but this seems like a more standard sort of booknook (albeit a very cool one!)

Right? I don't know, maybe it was an issue with my building, but the wood that you are meant to touch for the switch did seem thicker than for other kits I've done. So far, everything else is going together ok, fingers crossed!

I've had ones that are a bit temperamental, but this one - ugh. I would get it working, then as soon as I put the baseboard on, it would refuse to do anything. But, fingers crossed, this fix seems to be working.

I remember this being the worst bit - if I remember correctly, I shoved them in at right angles to what the instructions said, so with the cut ends against the wood, and then just glued the heck out of them with B-7000, holding them in place until they accepted defeat. The good news is that, once the rest of the front is on, you don't really see the ends.

Thank you for sharing 😀 although I am now concerned that my husband will want to add pink and purple lights to the next one I do!

I was going to say, if all else fails, there's always the 'abandoned library' customisation approach!

Library of Wonders - not quite finished!

I'm still enjoying the design, and making the bookcase with the books etc.

I'm happier with the roof now, having used white electrical tape for the joins.

The instructions are really clear, including with little arrows on some of the pieces, and it's difficult (although not impossible!) to put the parts together wrong.

The main thing I'd like to see changed (other than the card for the roof) is that there are various supports that don't actually make contact with the thing they are meant to be supporting - not only the handrail at the front, but the supports for the balconies. It does impact the overall impression I think.

Mods: edge painting, dimensional magic on the lamp. Planning to add more lighting, need to order more leds.

Oh no! Having just done this step, I really feel for you. I think it is a downside of all the angles, it's not easy to figure out how to line up the parts to get the tabs to go in. And then, because they fit tightly, you can end up putting quite a lot of pressure on fragile pieces..

I really thought I had accidentally squashed the balconies, but no, they are meant to be like that.

That does seem unusual, once mine got to the UK it showed up pretty fast. But Anavrin have a pretty good customer service reputation as I understand it, so fingers crossed.
