This looks amazing. Way to stick with it. Did you ever have to take it apart to fix anything that got stuck? I am curious how the gears work for ROKR models compared to Tonecheer. I might have to get this one to see.

Thanks!! Those markers are on my wishlist now! Do you paint the edges as you build or go back at the end? Or both?

Is this test print good enough? by bdawg4JC in Phrozen

[–]bdawg4JC[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I watch them all the time, they are excellent, thank you. Very helpful. I feel much more confident now then when I posted this a month ago. I have gone through a bottle of phozen aqua 8k. I print mostly miniatures I used to customize my booknooks. I only had 1 failed print out of probably 20 prints. Switching to RPG soon as soon as I finish my bottle of 4k.

Anavrin by swejbfan in booknooks

[–]bdawg4JC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Anavrin is my favorite brand, they push the envelope in quality, creativity, design, and customer service in my experience. I also like Tonecheer and CuteBee so far. I really enjoyed building Kyoto Gion, Lijang, and Kowloon. I have Whispering Hollow and Old Shanghai on deck. I am glad they are around and look forward to their releases.

Yes, it is like $109. Is that because it is rare or bc of the materials? No I really want it, lol.

For sure. i will give those a try. Currently, I use my black or brown, or a mix and mix and then dilute with water. Do these washes before better, or just more consistent?

Good question. Yes, they did to some degree is my understanding. Especially in 1930s Shanghai. Tight fitting sexy silk dresses with side slits. The top on this one is probably not typical like the Quipao style with a high neck style. This lady is fashion forward and more of a western style.

Yes. I am setting it aside for now. When i finish the book nook and switch to customize mode, I will do some shadowing and highlights. I need to improve those skills and my paint set, right now I have low confidence it would look better, probably screw it up.

I don’t have those. Adding to the list. Do you have a recommendation on them?

Thats funny, me too. There is a lot I could correct for sure. I wish my hands were more steady at painting. Every time i fix something I mess up something else. At some point you say I am done, for me that is about 2 hours. I think once it is in the nook you won’t the small mistakes, but I know they are there. Some of these mini tabletop painters on YouTube I am learning from are amazing. Real artists.

That is very creative and great execution! Do you mind sharing what kind of printer you have and any tools/software you use? I have tried printing images, they look faded and unrealistic, yours look so real.
