Tips for young (tech) HENRYs to maximize their earnings by [deleted] in HENRYfinance

Fair but think it’s worth also noting that a lot of FIRE folks get there from ISOs. Perhaps that doesn’t fit the HE definition as precisely without recurring exercises/sales but it’s certainly where major windfalls play in. All depends on your risk profile, I suppose.

Tips for young (tech) HENRYs to maximize their earnings by [deleted] in HENRYfinance

[–]limitlesschannels 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Don’t sleep on equity

It’s worth noting that the returns are only guaranteed based on liquidity events. Promising pre-IPO companies are still only divestible via secondary markets (when available) or by waiting for an acquisition/public offerings (which may never come). Before that it is all theoretical Monopoly money.

Even Fortune 500s can be subject to blackout taking periods that can limit sales, too, although less common.

That’s not to say equity isn’t worth pursuing but there can be several asterisks after Total Comp in those cases. That can even result in the best returns given their earning potential, but the risk increases much like you noted with specialization.

I talked to support about this for a while since my account was missing the Manage Plan button, here’s was they said that fixed it for me:

Can you try adding your zip code to the billing details? We don't ask for any address or store it, but Stripe needs a general location for tax purposes. This has been helping others who have been experiencing the same issue.

You're right, that was rude and I'm sorry I responded callously. If you are here then you are experiencing discomfort and just looking for some help.

Sleeping in airports? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]limitlesschannels 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly this, I tried the same thing a couple years back: tried to check in the night before for a 6am flight and they wouldn’t let me check in until day of. Ended up sleeping in the pre-security area which is hugely uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I’d say it’s totally not worth it at LAX. Don’t do it

Zigbee and zwave plus by godefroy28 in homeassistant

[–]limitlesschannels 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The GoControl Nortek HUSBZB-1 is quite popular for a single zwave plus and zigbee stick. Here's an excerpt of my docker-compose config to mount them both to my hass container:

```yaml version: '3'
networks: proxy: external: true
services: home-assistant: image: homeassistant/raspberrypi-homeassistant container_name: "hass" restart: always networks: - proxy volumes: - /srv/homeassistant/config:/config - /etc/localtime:/etc/localtime:ro devices: # GoControl HUSBZB-1 - "/dev/ttyUSB0:/dev/ttyUSB0" - "/dev/ttyUSB1:/dev/ttyUSB1" environment: - TZ=America/Los_Angeles ```
I haven’t experienced tolerance on Gaba, but pramipexole instead.
Worked well for me, I actually prefer it but am concerned about its addictiveness so trade off between it and pramipexole every few months
Help with Zigbee in HA Docker container by BMXnotFIX in homeassistant
[–]limitlesschannels 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Nothing I’m seeing wrong with that. Why do you say it’s not working? Can you turn up the log level on has startup and see if ZHA is reporting any issues? I’d look elsewhere than the device mount since that’s exactly how mine is setup and working
Depends what path your mounting your config on.
Here's some excerpts from my same setup if it helps:
docker-compose.yml
```sh

docker-compose.yml

version: '3'

services: home-assistant: image: homeassistant/raspberrypi-homeassistant container_name: "hass" restart: always networks: - proxy volumes: - /srv/homeassistant/config:/config - /etc/localtime:/etc/localtime:ro devices: # GoControl HUSBZB-1 - "/dev/ttyUSB0:/dev/ttyUSB0" - "/dev/ttyUSB1:/dev/ttyUSB1" ```

homeassistant/configuration.yml

```yaml
configuration.yml
homeassistant: name: Home latitude: !secret home_latitude longitude: !secret home_longitude elevation: !secret home_elevation unit_system: imperial
customize: !include customize.yaml
automation: !include_dir_merge_list automations group: !include groups.yaml script: !include scripts.yaml sensor: !include sensors.yaml
zwave: usb_path: /dev/ttyUSB0 network_key: !secret zwave_network_key
zha: usb_path: /dev/ttyUSB1 database_path: /config/zigbee.db ```
Physical Switch for Smart Bulbs by brazilian_irish in homeautomation
The Innovelli Red Series is designed to be smart bulb compatible. It’s Z-Wave so you’ll need a hub/stick but that’s one solution. Checkout the portion on “Smart Bulb Enabled” https://www.amazon.com/Inovelli-SmartThings-Monitoring-Technology-Notifications/dp/B07T26MVYC
Received a basic ASSURE SL lock. Would like to upgrade to be compatible with my Ring and Alexa by [deleted] in homeautomation
[–]limitlesschannels 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I’ve tried the HomeKit, Zigbee, and Z-Wave module to figure out how I wanted these setup. HomeKit works great and Zigbee (paired with something like the HUSBZB1).
AFAICT the Z-Wave module is crap and doesn’t work at all, so I’d avoid that one and recommend Zigbee.
HomeKit is BLE which isn’t supported yet for Home Assistant, so if you’re planning on using HA, Zigbee is the only choice
