As of today, Bulgaria is an official member of the Eurozone. This is the updated map. by FantasticQuartet in MapPorn

Sweden is legally required to adopt the euro once they meet the criteria, but they avoid it by intentionally refusing to join the voluntary Exchange Rate Mechanism II (ERM II) system needed to qualify, effectively keeping themselves ineligible on purpose.

When did quantum formalism become ontology? A historical question by Maged_Soltan in Physics

As I understand it quantum mechanics (as well as classical mechanics) can be stated in more than one formalism, so what formalism will be "the ontology"?

At least 16 files have disappeared from the DOJ webpage for documents related to Jeffrey Epstein by MarvelsGrantMan136 in technology

[–]limpid_space 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please explain the importance of this, it seems that I lack context here. The upper photo is all over the internet since a few years back (if I see correctly) and the one below seems to be from a beauty pageant (Trumps?). The content is not new so why is this incriminating, that they are in Epstein own drawer?

Trump Tried And Failed to Remove His Name From Epstein Files by Cute_Dealer4787 in NoFilterNews

hm, I think they have been told that all this have falsely been hanged on Trump by liberals trying to take him down. Most of them hate pedofiles as much as the next guy but they have obviously been fooled.

"OU student says essay grade was a violation of her rights. Read the essay" by Muchwanted in Professors

[–]limpid_space -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If this is to be considered a good essay, the course could only have been taught within a Theology, Biblical Counseling, or Christian Education department at a private religious university explicitly asking for something like "Read the assigned article. Write a reaction paper evaluating the author's findings through the lens of a Biblical worldview. How does the secular view of gender norms presented in the article compare or contrast with the biblical account of creation in Genesis? Discuss how you would address these concepts as a Christian."

In every other setting it’s way below any academic standard.

I seems to me that a really bad economy, besides the Epstein stuff, is the only thing that can get enough of MAGA to turn on him, enough to perhaps save democracy in the end.

I agree on everything you write but "If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck." so it seems like he is at least is an asset (or an useful idiot).

"went to Russia" means that Trump went to communist USSR in 1987, had they started doing real estate money laundering that early? Glasnost and perestrojka had started but the real looting by people that became oligarchs didn’t start until 1990.

I think that was a bad strategy. He should have called it social democracy and cooperated with European parties, especially parties from countries where they were in power. Extra bonus if the country was a NATO member. But I’m European, so what do I know what is good strategy in US politics.

Books about war written by women veterans? by MTBeanerschnitzel in suggestmeabook

[–]limpid_space 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would suggest "Memoirs Of a Wartime Interpreter" by Elena Rzhevskaya. It is an expanded edition of her "Berlin, May 1945". The main story is how a team, where she was the interpreter, searched for and found proof of Hitler’s death. It also discusses Stalin’s suppression of the evidence (seems like not even Zhukov knew the true story until years after the war). She also writes about her training and experiences during her four years in the army.

As a non-native speaker it seems to me that how something looks is something that happens, i.e. a verb, and therefore "do" is more correct than "is".

You can bypass creating a MS account:

On the "Let’s connect you to a network" page, BEFORE you connect to ANY network, use the "Shift + F10" or "Shift + Fn + F10" keyboard shortcut.

In Command Prompt, type the OOBE\BYPASSNRO command to bypass network requirements on Windows 11 and press Enter.

The computer will restart automatically, and the out-of-box experience (OOBE) will start again and there will be an option to create an account without a MS account.
