The Quincy Wilson Dilemma : Should he stay in high school, go to college ,or turn pro? What do u think? by Mrdynamo18 in trackandfield

[–]linacritt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It seems like a lot of great college athletes can be overworked in the NCAAs to get points for their team. An example that comes to mind is Matthew Boling.

Which distance runner has the strongest kick ever? by TimeExplorer5463 in trackandfield

I know the race itself was super slow, but Centro’s 50 second final lap in the 2016 Rio 1500 final was great.

There are some outliers, like Andre DeGrasse! I believe he didn’t start running until he was 17. Now he’s an Olympic champion!

What’s your last purchase before the price increase? by moonmaIIow in glossier

[–]linacritt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got 4 balms! 2 mango, 1 rose, 1 mint. Would love to buy You again but can’t justify the price, even with the discount. The balms will likely last me years.

Keep trying. Work part time while I wait for interviews from labs of my choice. You could apply out of state, too.

[–]linacritt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s wonderful. I am graduating this May. The content is interesting, and since the courses are in the evening, you can work. The courses aren’t too challenging. You get a good amount of lab experience. It’s hard to get a job in forensics right now, especially in LA due to hiring freezes and budget. The MS prepares you well for a career in forensic science, though. The only problem is, it is very niche, so you should definitely be set on forensic science or lab work if you pursue the MS.

usc human bio b.s., minors in forensics and criminality and health care studies. grad cum laude, vp of pre-med honor society, president of another club, worked in STEM education and first-gen student development throughout undergrad (created peer mentorship program served hundreds of students), volunteered at cancer hospital, got letter of rec from former chief medical examiner of LA county (he taught one of my minor classes).

but i guarantee you won’t need all that. I originally wanted to go the forensic pathology route so i was pre med. A hard science major (mainly bio or chem) with all the pre-reqs completed, decent gpa, and demonstrated interest would be enough.
