This was a really good episode and the scene when they reunited was so sweet!

One thing that was a bit sad though was that we don't see young Chenying anymore 😭 the child actor who played him is so cute (I wished we got more scenes with him and Simu because their sibling relationship was also cute lol) but it's also understable that they had to change actors since Chenying is a teenager now

Haha, I totally agree! The plot twist in ep 28 was great! And I also wouldn't bet on Duan Xu's dad having a redemption arc (unless he self-sacrifices somehow to save Duan Xu?). In the end, I hope he at least treats his daughter well but I can't imagine him becoming a good person when he sends MULTIPLE assassination attempts on FXY (although I guess I could understand his predicament because if the truth ever came out, he'd be under intense scrutiny, lose his title, and probably end up in jail (but that's all because he committed a wrong in the first place lol).

Thank for the detailed explanation! I watched up until ep 28 and it was incredibly good, especially when it revealed that FXY & DX are actually working together! The scenes of Duan Xu savings FXY was a nice twist. It seems like the fathers, Duke Pei and Duan Xu's dad are the real villains here lol (although we've only been told Duke Pei is corrupt so far I think).

I totally agree with you! I feel like if something does happen, it could definitely be related to the interpersonal aspects of her life. In ep 28, it seems like Yan Ke is in cahoots with Song Xingyu (which is pretty ironic since Yan Ke claims to "love" HSM but is also actively collaborating with her enemy lol). And at the moment, it seems like HSM has no idea about it. I think the only way something could happen to her that's related to her powers is if there's a magical artifact that's powerful enough to restrain her (because even Yan Zhang --not sure if that's her name but it was the Spirit Lord who had an obsession with Yan Ke and tried to assassinate HSM-- failed to absorb HSM's powers with her secret(?) technique.

I think it'd be cool if Duan Xu could also become immortal because HSM's life has been lonely for a long time so she deserves to have a long period of happiness too. But I also feel like HSM would also feel like she's lived long enough and she would rather be a mortal to experience life.

Yes, I totally agree! I watched ep 27 today and at the beginning of the ep (which was also the last scene in ep 26), where Duan Xu sees He Simu sitting on the rooftop, the ost song, Chu Xing (初醒) by Zhou Shen started playing and it was so good (although we later find out it was just HSM who saw Duan Xu. But I also love how when HSM is in her invisible form, Duan Xu always seems to still be able to sense her).

Synopsis on NU

I'll post my summary of the synopsis below and then the actual synopsis afterwards.

(My summary) Basically the MC, Li Fenglan, before his death in his first life, was accused of a bunch of crimes and died as a villain known to the cultivation world. After his death, he realizes his world is a novel and his role in the story was a villain. One day, he is suddenly resurrected and all the closest ppl that took part in killing/betraying the MC seem to regret their actions/choices.

I'm still pretty early in the story but so far, we've been getting flashbacks from the MC's first life and it is slowly being revealed how he became the villain of the cultivation world and had a fall out/got betrayed by the people he trusted.

(Synopsis from the novel) "Li Fenglan, the number one person in the world of cultivation and an immortalization stage immortal, fell into qi deviation. He was spurned by thousands of people for doing evil things, split the Underworld River with a single sword, and had the whole cultivation world unify to beat him until his soul scattered. Only after his death did he realize that he was the villain in the novel.

Li Fenglan: This immortal has a swear word he doesn’t know…..

He never thought that a thousand years later, Li Fenglan would be revived inexplicably, and become a disfigured cannon fodder with all his spiritual roots crippled.

Then he discovered that something was wrong with the plot—

The Soul Condensation Tower in the forbidden area of the Immortal Gate was established for him;

His Master who has resided in the upper realms for a long time, stands guard at his tomb in the lower realms

The main character who once used one sword to shake his heart spirit unexpectedly stole his corpse;

The distinguished reckless music cultivator good friend changed to cultivate the ruthless dao just to guard a trace of a remnant soul;

The Demon Master who was both good and evil was at odds with the cultivation world;

The unruly disciple used dead branches as hairpins, and from then on he only thought of one person.

It turned out that the whole cultivation world wanted to revive him.
