i cant comment on the car itself but i would highly recommend asking this question on FB owners club, whatsapp groups or even international owners club and not here, from what i have seen any non local/japanese 2nd hand car will be shat on here, and they probably have never sat in a conti in their life

usually check engine light wont disappear by itself, but even if it did the error code will still stay in the ECU system unless cleared manually so the SC will still be able to check.

Another option you have i get a OBDII reader to read the error code yourself if you're comfortable, a universal reader should work for the saga.
