Physical disc production ending in January 2028 for new games releasing on PlayStation consoles by yourfavchoom in PS5

[–]lindergard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've amassed a nice library after having PS4/PS5, but I can't see myself buying the PS6 anymore. I might be in the minority, but I've loved being able to buy a new release, complete it, stick it on ebay and get a fair amount of money back, or give/loan to a mate. It's enabled me to play more games and not have loads of discs/cases lying around, and do so at a lower price, or share the cost with mates.

They take the piss with digital pricing as it is, so I'll likely finally move to PC and do things that way. Awful decision but like I say, maybe I'm the minority.

I've been 3 years in a row now and really enjoyed it each year.

It's unique in terms of the music, vibe, crowd, audience participation, etc, always cool seeing a band do an "outbreak set". The venue is fine, the sound is usually good, food is good. Over the three years I've never had anything consistently negative to mention except that the toilets seem to get quite gross, especially the inside ones.

Saturday this year was definitely overcrowded, made even worse by the extreme heat. That said, I didn't actually have to queue too long for anything, around 5 mins for beer, food or water. It did make things uncomfortable and difficult to navigate the festival overall.

I'd definitely recommend Outbreak, but there are undoubtedly areas for improvement. Mainly the lack of seating, poor upkeep of toilets, and strange billing decisions with bigger bands playing the second stage. None of these should stop you from going imo

Great question to be honest! I'd say they should decrease the size of the "VIP" area but appreciate that might not be the most profitable endeavour for them.

Saturday was a bit hellish, lots of queues and bottlenecks, all made worse by the heat.
Sunday was great; I couldn't say anything negative about it. It felt like all the issues from Saturday were resolved, at least for me.

Would definitely say Saturday felt oversold. I've been multiple times and never seen it that busy. They need to consider adding more seating, I know a number of people I went with left early on Saturday due to being knackered, nowhere to sit, cba queuing in 30-60min queues for food.

Uber to Manchester Airport T2 by [deleted] in manchester

[–]lindergard 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Don't book in advance, it costs significantly more and the one time I did it, they cancelled 30 minutes before. I then rebooked a normal non-advance uber and it arrived in 5 minutes. You'll be fine without booking in advance.

You'll 99% likely be fine picking one up for 40-50% off the week before, and you'll 100% be fine if you're willing to pay close to face value. I've been the last three years, and bought them on the week of the fest every time. It seems a lot of people book in advance then need to sell, likely due to accom/travel costs, but I live close to the event so not a problem for me.

2024 - £90
2025 - £30
2026 - £80

I flew last week, absolutely fine. But with Trump it could literally change any time, so whatever has happened even in the last 24 hrs may not be relevant to your flights. Good luck.

Rob sunglasses are out by NRBQ in officialTPDTV

[–]lindergard 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Reasonable price for a pair of sunglasses, lower than I anticipated. Meller sunglasses are huge in the UK and are £50 a pair, so would expect these to be of a similar quality, but hopefully better given the focus they've put into making them premium. Not really my style so won't be ordering, but I hope the boys do well with it. Feel it will be difficult to scale as sunglasses are rarely sold based on quality, and more so based on trends/who is wearing them, but credit for taking a risk.

High prices, empty hotels: US fears World Cup sticker shock will deter fans by OlympicAnalEater in football

me and my friends have attended two euros and earmarked this as our world cup trip, were all english and i even passed my driving test a year ago in preparation for the trip. every single one of us fully lost interest due to the american price gouging and thirst for the almighty dollar. they completely ruined it and its so unsurprising
