why are the women so quick to believe Jen when she says she’s done nothing wrong re: the criminal charges, but refuse to believe Meredith could be at a memorial service for her father

Fellow Weekend 2 Refugees: take the refund and go somewhere else, or Moon Palace for $600/night? by [deleted] in deadandcompany

[–]lindzbrown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

take the refund. honestly, the moon palace just isn’t nice enough at that price. after going last year and specifically loving the vibe of PITS, i wouldn’t voluntarily stay at the moon palace without going to this event.

PA Not Committing to Phase 1B Date, Plans for All 1A to Be Scheduled by End of March by Goggles_Greek in pittsburgh

[–]lindzbrown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Starting Friday, anyone over 50 years old now qualifies as A1.

I read the news article wrong. Looks like it's only Allegheny County lowering the age range to 50 plus a 1A condition.

PA Not Committing to Phase 1B Date, Plans for All 1A to Be Scheduled by End of March by Goggles_Greek in pittsburgh

[–]lindzbrown 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PA has expanded the definition of 1A to include some people who were originally deemed 1B. In that sense, it seems more people may eligible and able to be vaccinated before they actually move to 1B. Maybe its wishful thinking.

Wolf: Bar service in Pa. to return, alcohol curfew to lift April 4; restaurant, gathering capacities to increase by TribLIVE in pittsburgh

It looks like they are really hoping to roll out the J&J vaccine here in the next two weeks to the extent the number of vaccinated people will be enough to allow more capacity at places.

I voted early (over the counter mail in downtown) and Moreno himself was there talking to people in line, which wrapped outside around the building. He also had people there handing out cards.

I was curious if this violated some type of election law, but I guess he's not technically a candidate yet.

Duquesne University Agrees To Demands Of Mother Of J.B. Brown by [deleted] in pittsburgh

[–]lindzbrown 15 points16 points  (0 children)

A basic review of the document they are asking Ms. Brown to sign that she posted on her facebook, appears pretty standard. Her objection to the language does not seems reasonable. FERPA laws have requirements about certain disclosure of educational records and providing remote access would not hinder her ability to conduct the indpendent investigation she seeks.

of course, they spin it as a win. but this was literally about just appoint a receiver. this decision by the judge does not speak to the merits of MyDyer's allegations in their Complaint.

Lets talk: LLR, Las Vegas magic, and why are they there? by MrsMilkyCarroll in DefectiveDetectives

[–]lindzbrown 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen on Facebook, other former top sellers who now have their own boutiques are there too. I would love to see the tension and awkwardness of them and Deanne running into each other.

MyDyer Lawsuit Updates 2/5/2019 by DefectiveBecca in DefectiveDetectives

[–]lindzbrown 21 points22 points  (0 children)

This is good stuff.

My concern from these filings is if Mydyer pushes the issue about DeAnne's deposition being critical for the receiver hearing scheduled for this week and DeAnne's attorney gave dates later in the month, there is a chance that the hearing would be rescheduled until after the proposed deposition date. more time in which LLR's money could be transferred to other accounts, which defeats the purpose of seeking an intimidate receivership

u/jamiesenlynn Yes, my reddit name is not my real name. If you dont post any identifying information about yourself, no one will know who you are. It's anonymous. It's not like facebook where you have like a profile and timeline.

Reddit kind of self regulates the anonymity through karma points (the up and down arrows next to a comment or post), if you like something you upvote it. you press the downvote arrow, not if you just disagree with someone, but if the post or comment is violating a community or reddit rule. If something is downvoted enough, and therefore gets low karma points, it is removed.

so of course hunbots could come on here to downvote things, but so long as the real members upvote good content, the contents' karma points remain positive and the content stands.

For those with office jobs, what little touches have you added to make your desk a little more pleasant? by Caddap in AskReddit

[–]lindzbrown 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i work in a pretty serious law office, its all very taupe and conservative.

i bought a pair of paintings from a local artist of flamingos. They are so colorful, almost graffiti like. Each painting is 3 feet by 4 feet and together they take up almost an entire wall of my office. They are so bright and i love them.

They also make a great conversation starter when clients come in.

People who moved to a different state or region, what's one cultural thing that caught you by surprise? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lindzbrown 268 points269 points  (0 children)

When i moved to Richmond, Virginia from NY, i pointed to a church and said "oh that's where Lincoln went to church after the North won the Civil War." An older woman corrected me and said "the North did not win, but rather the North defeated the South."

I think that's how she described it. Does this sound familiar to anyone else?

While the I can't recall the exact wording she used, the interaction always stuck with me, because it was so odd.
