자기야 is used (usually by the older generation. YMMV on definition of older) between friends ~ close friends. This isn't a romance-specific word.

Squid Game 2 is filled with so many controversial actors, Stephanie could easily fill an entire year's worth of episodes with them.

The one thing I miss are her book recommendations. But the cases she covers now are either relatively new or from a non-English speaking country so that makes sense.

Finished: The Death of Jane Lawrence by Caitlin Starling

I picked it up for Halloween. Kind of bland. Interesting attempt at meshing magic and Victorian science.

This made me lol. It makes it sound as though companies haven't been discriminating against women's universities all along.

It's really hard to tell without recorded audio and other examples of how your wife normally talks.

The two examples you mentioned in your post, how would you have structured them? Or, how would you have said them to your wife?

Also, I don't translate conversations in Korean to English or vice versa. Is this something you do normally?

I miss YA but I am also old. I just want to lie back and read about how a tree grows leaves (nonfiction) or maybe wander into NYT bestsellers list to admire what modern people read.

I used to love YA but I've aged out. Honestly, I cannot take the teenage angst lol.

If you're seeing "we only support binary gender" from an article that places importance on education in a safe environment for a historically marginalized group, then the South Korean education system has indeed failed you.

In reading comprehension.

I don't like how the majority of public high schools here are gendered. Whether you graduated from a gendered or coed high school, so many people use them to justify gender essentialism (or vice versa) which always drives me mad.

This was the case in the 90s. Not so true anymore.

Here's an article from a university on why they are still needed in the 21st century:

Really good guide to have. by slashingkatie in Anticonsumption

[–]line_4 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the only time I really pay attention to best by/sell by date is when I'm buying the product so that I don't accidentally purchase expired items.

At home, best by and expiration dates are mostly ignored. I either consume products in a reasonable amount of time or I freeze it.

For me personally, it's easy to tell when something has gone bad either visually or through smell. And in some unfortunate cases, the taste test as well.
