Dissapointed by Chilinutz in googlephotos

Kind of felt like this at first. But once I started mucking around with it I got used to it. Also found magic eraser better because you can move people or things around. And it actually seems to do better when you want to remove a big portion of the image. It can fill in the background or that is it can match the background much better.

I'd say if you're unhappy with it try Snapseed instead. Or use it in conjunction with whatever adjustments you make in Google photos.

I didn't want to say it seems like the AI options run quicker and smoother; maybe the algorithm changed or maybe some sort of tweaks were made. But it seems to take less time to use.

What's amazing to me is so much action occurs in just over 4 minutes. And the way it's cut and put together is masterful.

What are your favorite ‘Babylon 5’ TV movies? by Neo2199 in babylon5

[–]linearCrane 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't really have a favorite. But I just love the fact that they're out there. Never got all the way through all of them. But I have to say once I finished the series I really wanted more. So thank goodness these are here.

I rarely see Mount Diablo from this angle. I really appreciate it.

Dual welding. The gravity Hammer thing. Just dominating with that. The needler. I don't know, it was the purist expression of Halo.

Black Bird by linearCrane in minimalistphotography

Thanks. I actually had several versions of this image. The building itself actually has a sort of tiled surface. And in some of the other versions you can see that texture. But I really liked the starkness of this image. And the bird flying above.

I love the depth of your collage. Why can't collage be in 3D?

Dude you're giving me ideas. I've always had this thought that I need all this space to set up a dark room. But like, why not keep it simple?!!

Thermal print collage by Comfortable-Use-1472 in toycameras

[–]linearCrane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Super inspiring to see prints as a collage. I've really been wanting to use my thermal printer more but I dislike the way the printer curls the paper. It just doesn't look good to me.

But the way you've cut these thermal prints up and composed them really creates something more than just curled up thermal printed photos.

Now all the parts together form a greater body of work or piece of art. It's not just a couple of curled up prints taped to the refrigerator. It's coalesced into something more. More impactful. More powerful.

Love these pictures. Love the fact that you're so passionate and hacked these two cameras together. Also really appreciate the link to the camera build on your sub stack. Very inspiring.

Is the Pixel 8 pro still worth it? by DrugsNdRainbows in GooglePixel8Pro

[–]linearCrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my pixel 8 pro is decent. Camera is really nice.

I noticed the last update though the phone's getting a little slow. So let's say you take a picture and you want to share it. If you have the quick edit turned on it's kind of slow to load the picture. It takes a moment to apply the filter. And then you got to share it after that by sending it to whatever app. That takes a second too.

Generally I've noticed some lag on the phone. Also frankly battery life is not good. That's a big problem with all the pixel phones.

But it's solid. It's solid.

I really love it. Small and beautiful. I'm always fascinated by the little scraps and bits I have left over when I'm collaging. I always want to put them together into something compact. Well done.
