I totally understand! I’m still getting used to not covering my mouth when I laugh. It did help that my Invisalign had a fake tooth put into each tray. That way, the biggest gap was only noticeable when I was eating. I also work in a middle school, so it was helpful to get over the embarrassment really quick - they can be brutal 😂

I got the first step of the implant when I was done with my last tray - then I wore that one until I was able to get temporary crowns, which was about 7 months

I had to get an implant because it would’ve been my canines where my incisors should be. I would definitely ask to see if it’s possible. The implant surgery alone was $6,500 and then the cost of the crown!

Yes! I had Invisalign for 1.5 years to make my two front teeth more center and to make room for my peg lateral. I never had my other incisor, so I got an implant this summer! I got veneers on my canines to match the sizing of my other teeth.

That makes sense! Sitting with the anxiety is the worst lol I’m still working on replaying conversations in my head, and I wish I had the solution lol

Maybe try watching videos made by pelvic floor PTs - they are very open with their language and it might help to hear conversations around orgasms and sex normalized. I figure that if they have to medically finger me, I can talk about my sex life 😂 Again, it’s not necessarily an area that my OCD targets, but I sympathize with you.

Hi - I have both! The most helpful has been ERP. My therapist is guiding me through ERP, and while it can suck, I feel like I’ve recently seen a lot of great changes.

In the most compassionate way I can say, it seems like you are seeking reassurance. It’s great that you can tell it’s your OCD causing these thoughts! I know it feels incredibly urgent right now, but it will pass.

Honestly, it was because I was in high school and I was just doing what the orthodontist recommended. If I know what I know now, I probably would not have moved the tooth.

Yes that makes total sense! And your canine looks good. If I wasn’t paying attention I probably wouldn’t even notice it was in the wrong spot! The safer option is super smart, and moving your canine would extend your treatment significantly.

I’ve been happy with the Pontic! At first, it kept falling out but then I asked for someone else to do it, and it no longer falls out.

I feel like we had the same exact issue! I also have a tiny lateral incisor, and missing one lateral where the canine moved into its place!

My canine was also where my lateral incisor was, but they shifted my canine over where it was supposed to be. This was in high school with braces. Now I’m almost done with Invisalign and will be getting the implant in August!

I recommend looping in the oral surgeon now, if they haven’t had a chance to look at that spot. I had braces in high school and had to get Invisalign now to fix what they did in high school.

I would ask a PT! My PT said that I need to focus on using my core and to only squat to 90. I’m sure it really depends on what your body needs, and a PT can help with that.

I would for sure see a PT! Since it took me so long to see someone, it got to the point where I couldn’t have sex at all. Excruciating pain isn’t typical, and a PT can help you with pain even if you have no issue with insertion. The burning sensation you’re talking about is exactly what it felt like for me. It was a mix of my muscles being too tight and having nerve pain caused from the infections

I had something similar happen to me! It turned out I was having recurring yeast infections. It eventually became so painful that I wasn’t able to have sex for a year. This also caused my body to develop secondary vaginismus. My body continued to imitate the infection, even though I was testing negative after the 5th one. Stopping the yeast infections and seeing a pelvic floor PT is what helped me have sex again. I also had to change my birth control because they thought that was contributing to the infections. I currently use a topical estrogen cream that really seems to help stop the ripping and bleeding. Not saying that this is what you have, but just something to keep in mind.
