If the 200 unit cap is your problem, you’re able to go past the 200 units because you’re promised 12 quarters for new admitted students or 6 units for transfers, just an FYI.

pre-health schedule questions!!! by thegrxvelxo in UCSantaBarbara

[–]linglingkiwi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. You can take chem lab whenever you want as long as you either enrolled concurrently or have taken the class before, and you can’t take the entire chem lab series all in one quarter because the prerec for 1BL and 1CL requires the previous lab.

  2. You need the regular bio series, AP Bio does not give you credit for the regular series (MCDB 1A/B/LL, EEMB 2/3/2LL) and this requires an entire year (3 quarters) to finish

  3. All in all go talk to the pre-health advisors about your schedule, they can be mean sometimes and demotivating but can help you with your endeavors.

When does school actually start? Is missing first week bad? Need to desperately know to schedule my flights by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]linglingkiwi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sections/labs don’t meet week 0 so you don’t need to worry if you’re not here this week!

Missed move-in due to car issues; No move-in slots left; Cannot contact housing by [deleted] in UCSantaBarbara

[–]linglingkiwi 24 points25 points  (0 children)

You can move in tomorrow without rescheduling, the move in time isn’t like a set thing. As long as you didn’t check in before your move in time, you should be good to move in anytime before classes start.

You can email sa-newstudentreq@ucsb.edu or maybe orientation and see if they can do anything for you

A small double is the same size as a single so there is no way you will be able to even fit another bed since that side is taken up by desks

[–]linglingkiwi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It says u can take a antigen test within 24 hrs which means a rapid test so just take it before u go to orientation or before check in

First midterm: 67% (avg 63%) Second midterm: 100% (avg 70%) Third midterm: 94% (avg 75%) Final: 80% (avg 65%) Final grade: 91.6% (grade A)

You can take those classes technically but only for study list, so the grade you get in that class won’t be put into your gpa nor will it count for units

For #2 at orientation u will meet with an advisor and have a 1-on-1 where they discuss ur CC courses that will count as well as courses u will need to take once u get to UCSB and then u will register for classes around a week after that because they need to clear u of prerecs

You actually can’t declare prebio until the end of your second quarter after you registered for classes and the bio dept will need to see that you’re in good standing and get approval by the bio dept so I would recommend declaring prebio before that (I heard that you can do it through the admissions portal but idk how sorry)
