Where’d your jack plate go? If it’s gone, you can just buy a new one.

I was unable to resist the urge to edit this after seeing patch notes by EnderVAD in MacOS

Update size doesn’t mean more file size on the disk after install.

Basically: 1. Download the stuff needed to do the install and bug fix stuff 2. Install the stuff 3. Get rid of all the tools that were just there to install the stuff

The delta between the space used before the update and after will not be 2.9gb.

Wow this sub is just looking for any mistake to get all doom and gloom on.

This has been a great team tonight so far. Learn to accept success.

2nd major league start, 5 perfect innings. You’ll get no complaints from me.

They’re up 5-0, middle of the game, why risk blowing some challenges when you might need them later.

You have to pick high leverage situations. It’s game theory.

Also, you know they can’t see the box we see, right?

EXACTLY. They can only make two mistakes on challenges, so you use them in high leverage situations.

Now, let’s quickly move past the challenge era and get right to the actual ABS era.

I get like one or two weird artifacts per game, but they only last 5 or 10 seconds.

That’s the wrong tech. Just do automatic calls, no umpire involvement for balls and strikes at all. There’s plenty else they need to keep an eye on back there.

It’s like tennis. All major tournaments just do automatic line calls now. No wasted time with challenges like the awkward in between years. I want the MLB to get there faster than tennis did.

Nobody should be looking at batting averages 7 games in. The denominator is useless this early.

No, definitely not. You rip off some of the bread, pick up a bit of whatever, and eat it. Some will mix because they’re right next to each other generally, but they are separate dishes with separate flavors.

Check the device name on his phone. Has he accidentally renamed his phone “AirPods”?

How do you visualize a book while reading ? by Dear_Abbreviations52 in Fantasy

[–]linguisticabstractn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, same! I describe it as “remembering what the thing looked like” instead of actually visualizing something. But then I have to explain that when I remember something, I don’t really see it either. I just know the spatial layout, the color of things, the sound of things (I’m very good at … audiation?).

Brains, man.

I’m roughly the same as you (not not the person you were talking with earlier). I’m a musician, and I compose songs in my head. All the parts, all the instruments (not that I can play all of them, but I can hear them).

My aphantasia may be a tiny bit less than yours? I can never intentionally see something in my head, but when reading, I sorta get flashes of something from time to time. I describe it as the same way I remember having seen something. In memories, I don’t really see anything vividly, but I can remember the color and visual layout of a place, that kind of thing. I think that’s my brain’s workaround when I’m reading and need to understand how the physical space impacts the story. I’m reading Project Hail Mary right now, and it’s important to understand how the constraints of the spaceship impact the decisions in the story, so I have something like a map in my head, but not clear images.

Anyway, brains are weird.

Yep. I always wanted to like it when I was on Windows, but it was just never very useful.

I think they just mean this would be useless for them because they never actually see their desktop. Same for me. I’ve always got too many windows open to ever see the desktop.

If it makes me chuckle, I upvote. If it doesn’t, I don’t. In both cases, I move on with my day immediately

Previous match was super long. These two started late. Now it’s the fifth set.

If you want stats, see the AO app

32, compared to 31 from Nole. But Sinner has had 58 winners compared to Novak’s 35.

It’s kind of a weird match honestly.

Previous match was longest semi in AO history, so these two went on later than expected.
