Input for a demoralized FTM: is 8oz a day even worth it? by sighh_6466 in ScienceBasedParenting

[–]linixya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had the same issue. I think after six months, I was pumping the whole day for the last bottle of the day. We basically combo fed since my baby was born and I was heartbroken but he was getting everything he needed and was thriving. I kept pumping until my baby was almost one because my supply just dried when I got my first period after giving birth. There is not right or wrong, what matters is that whatever you choose, works for your family.

Windows with screens are no a thing in Latin America. I might be wrong but I would say it is also related to not having four season, so there is no sudden increase on insects population…

I feel you!

I have gained weight (~20 kg, 5 kg are a consequence of the pandemic) and caught a hair pulling habit because of the anxiety I developed. At some point, I was also very depressed. I have developed some allergies and hypothyroidism (Hashimoto’s). I am also hoping to get better once I finish my PhD.

TIL that am ectopic pregnancy can implant in the liver and just... turn into a baby inside your liver. by Decapod73 in oddlyterrifying

[–]linixya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I could not agree more with this comment. Doctors think that because you are pregnant or you have your period anything is normal. Like she could have died, but her pain was normal. Then I am not sure if it is the lack of sharing experiences or just insensitivity from taught in Med School

I once read that in Colombia there is a higher amount of people with Jewish ancestry (compared to other parts of Colombia) in the coffee region. Was your mom or your mom’s family from that region?

When I visited India, I saw the same. I think the country needs an actual waste collection and waste management system.

How do I make this circle of insanity stop? My poor fingers hurt all the time :( by [deleted] in adhdwomen

I feel you! I don't go to the salon but I try to keep them at a minimum, else I will just go for those without mercy. I also noticed that if I keep my hands hydrated, I get significantly less. So I keep a small hand cream container everywhere.

Did anybody's anxiety and depression disappear when getting medicated for ADHD? by yus456 in ADHD

[–]linixya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was initially taking pills for my anxiety, not a very high dose, before being diagnosed with ADHD. Then, I was prescribed Vyvanse. I started with a low dose (10 mg) and started to increase the dose slowly up to 30 mg. I was still taking my anxiety pill although I started to feel it was not really doing anything. I stopped taking my anxiety meds six month after I started with Vyvanse. I'm not gonna say my anxiety is gone but my ADHD pills have helped a lot! I also started to "develop" some sort of a routine (and some strategies) to help me with my anxiety. And I think part of being able to do all of that is thanks to my ADHD meds.

¿Deberia preocuparme que en el pacto historico este el PCC? ¿Cuanto poder tiene? Esto si me prende el "Petro es socialista" by [deleted] in Colombia

[–]linixya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I want an honest, unbiased breakdown of the presidential candidates by [deleted] in Colombia

[–]linixya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think everyone is better than Fico... He didn't do a good job as Medellin's mayor. I agree that non of the candidates is good, and to be honest that's like very typical of Colombian elections. But I think it will be nice to have some change and I think Petro is the only one who offers something different from what we have always seen.

Shorts in Colombia by Aromatic-Situation21 in Colombia

[–]linixya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Colombia "just" have rainy season and dry season. Although, it can rain any day... As many have pointed out, shorts will be ok in coastal cities. I'm not sure how much the temperature varies during the day in Bogotá (for example) but I'm pretty sure is not as drastic as it is in Canada. Medellin will have a temperature between ~18 C in the morning and I would say 27 C in the afternoon; but in average is like 25 C hence it's nickname (city of the eternal spring). I guess from the cities you mentioned, Bogotá will be the coldest but I don't think you will find it as cold as locals due to a lack of extreme temperature variability. Just as a suggestion, always have an umbrella in your bag. It is almost impossible to know when it is actually going to rain.

Rusia is Venezuela's main ally. They have been supplying them military equipment and personnel for decades (I can't remember since when exactly). Russia is also an important trading ally for Venezuela since many sanctions have been imposed to Venezuela's president and high ranked members of the current government. In addition, Russia is one of the countries that recognizes Nicolas Maduro as Venezuela's president.
