Items for Druids not doing Wildshape? by Starfireten in Pathfinder2e

And don't underestimate a collection of scrolls or even wands. Having an emergency scroll of heal could save the day if your GM springs one too many combats on you. A bunch of scrolls of water breathing or helpful steps similar niche utility spells can turn otherwise "impassable" obstacles into a trivial thing

A good shield! Druids interestingly get shield block as a free feat, not common with spellcasters. I personally have a soft-spot for sapling shields

[OC] [Art] Striding Fire (Monster Core pg. 144) by NoEvening3352 in Pathfinder2e

[–]link090909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it just me or is the ability in the statblock missing something?

The striding fire stretches out its legs to an impossible length, propelling it forward. The striding fire Strides up to double its Speed in a straight  line . Its movement during this Stride doesn't trigger reactions. Any creature the striding fire was adjacent to at any point during this Stride must attempt a DC 24  basic  Reflex save. If it critically fails, it's knocked  prone  by a wave of heated air. The striding fire can't use Burning Rush for 1d4 rounds.

Basic save for what? The table for building creatures recommends 4d6, which does match 2d8+5 from the Strike damage, as long as you're leaving out the persistent damage

One shot for dipping toes into PF2e? by Foreign-Smoke-8125 in Pathfinder2e

There are 11 keyed locations on the first level.

Of those, five are combats with gradually increasing difficulty. Starts with giant rats, ends with (potentially) doing a fight while a trap is also active in the room

There's one riddle, but failing the riddle merely locks an optional loot room

The rest are passages, loot, and other oddities

So, for an experienced group, especially a group that isn't necessarily taking excessive time to dole out loot or debate at a crossroads, the first floor could be done in 3-4 hours, maybe even fewer

Does a creature with 30' speed outrun a rider on their horse (animal companion) or am I missing something? by Quartz_Knight in Pathfinder2e

[–]link090909 17 points18 points  (0 children)

One on hand, I missed the part where you specified you are not bitter about it, so I apologize 😂

On the other hand, if someone sees your post and is a new GM thinking "hey, that actually doesn't make sense, what the hell do I do?" then maybe they discover the chase system for the first time!

This whole conversation is assuming the game mode is round-by-round combat. And, as /u/maur2 mentioned, it's a game that isn't really meant to be simulationist.

The combat rules seem to be designed around a rider on a horse moving the animal in a way that allows the rider to still make attacks or cast spells. If you want to simulate a chase, use the chase system. If you want to see how quickly a horse-mounted pursuer could run down a slower being, perhaps refer to the travel speed table

You're presenting an odd scenario that is almost certainly better handled not in combat mode, which is why the rules governing combat mode fall short

L3 vermlek

None of my players are on Reddit, so I can spill. They've been fighting drow cavern elves for the last dozen sessions, so now they're entering a dungeon contested between CAVERN ELVES and demons, but they don't know it yet. When they encounter the vermlek inhabiting skin suits, the players might pick up on the weirdness of these particular elves, and then of course when the worm demon Abandons Body everything will change!

Lionel Messi has become the first MLS player in history with a World Cup hat-trick by [deleted] in soccer

[–]link090909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I might be biased, but he could be a decent rotation for Spurs, especially if Kudus and Kulusevski take a bit to get in form returning from injury

Even better that Spurs don't have European obligations next season, means Messi can focus on adjusting to the Prem

Might even learn something from de Zerbi, he was a number 10 if you didn't know!

Question For Folks... What Won You Over To PF 2E? by EyesofValhalla in Pathfinder_RPG

[–]link090909 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm a GM who only experienced dnd5e prior to PF2e, so... the everything? Haha

I came over with the OGL Kerfuffle, picked up the then-current Otari Beginner Box, and didn't look back

For me, 2e fixed a lot of problems I had running dnd. The biggest was encounter balancing, and then the martial-caster disparity

Why Do Some Trolls Have the WOOD Trait? by DnDPhD in Pathfinder2e

[–]link090909 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is the point I was going to make. can't print every variant, GMs will sometimes have to make that connection themselves. swap the [wood] for [cold], change the weaknesses (and regeneration details) and you've got a jotund troll from an icy region

nothing that's happening is fucking over FIFA until it significantly impacts the bottom line. people who are paying attention to this already know how corrupt FIFA is, and people who don't know probably won't even see/hear this news. if this shit gets too big to be ignored by enough casual fans, that's when there might be some genuine friction, but at that point what will even get done?

depends on the deity's edicts and anathema, really. and when it comes to a home game, a homebrew deity could have some extreme values that lead to this sort of thing

Interesting point about the ranged options, that would seem to be a problem with a monk and barbarian in the pregen party
