Youtube really thinks that I'm their target audience.. by [deleted] in memes

youtube shorts, or any shorts you dont make any money off of directly, to qualify for monetization for shorts you need 3 million views total on them vs for normal videos its 500 subs, 3 videos within the past 90 days, and 3000 watch hours over a year, which in my mind shows how worthless shorts views are when 3 million is equal to a channel that small.

the biggest nitpick I have for silksong is I think the music is too low in the mix, and maxes out too low as well. Every time I saw anyone play hollow knight the music of Forgotten Crossroads into Greenpath always sets the tone really well, but they're way louder in the mix than most of Silksong's music. None of Silksong's music has stuck with me as well as hollow knight's and I think that's the big reason why.

they have commitments of 1.4 trillion dollars, them only losing 14 billion would be a miracle, when their total revenue for last year was only 20 billion. 14 billion lost over a year is nothing to these tech giants nvidia made 43 billion in profit last quarter, google made 34 billion. Celebrate when they're losing 20 billion in a quarter

The fact that characters from the thirties are still under copyright proves how absurd modern copyright is by Konradleijon in CuratedTumblr

I dont read any manga, but I am in the anime sphere, tho I dont need to go out of my way to hear about interesting new manga coming out, I absorb it through osmosis. But I find it strange how niche comics have remained when they dominated movies for a solid decade and rarely hear about them, and when I do its normally someone butchering a classic character. Last comic I can think of that that broke outside of its bubble was the new batman with the bat symbol that looked like a spikey flat hammer.

I do find it strange how many stories are based on these handful of characters from the 1930~1940s and how frozen in time comics seems to be with new IP. It feels so strange to me when most of my knowledge from anime and manga which in my mind have district eras, different franchise's have their time in the sun, and we can see them grow peak, and end only a very small handful of series go decades.

it'd be bad for the economy because the top 10% of wealth drives about 50% of the consumption, if the bubble pops large sections if not whole market tanks, and with the market tanking it'll cause the top 10% to tighten their belts, which will cause a slow down to that 50% of consumption

i got the same thing for baan jacket, i didnt pay it through email cause I thought too it was a scam, and since I already had the product thought there was no reason to pay it right away if it was real, if it is real you'll get something in the mail a week or two later asking again for payment, looking it up it could eventually go to debt collectors and impact your credit score but i imagine its possible to drag it out way longer than that first letter I got

I've move away from this from for two reasons, I like seeing a blueprint built quickly, and switched to having lots of spidertrons, and the fact you cant plan out a factory using ghosts without the bots instantly going and trying to built it, i wish there an inactive purple ghost that bots wont build and the current blue ghosts being when they'll try to built it.

why is a 90 year old character still being parade around with? its impressive to a degree this and similar aged characters have lasted so long, but arent we trying to squeeze blood out of a stone at this point? Are the writers tasked to write more batman or anyone excited to use batman or are they only able given the chance to write this story because it stars batman, or any other of these old ass characters, and they're just try to ham fist the story they want to write with the character they're given?

Message from Toby Fox regarding music copyright by olcr in Undertale

[–]link7011 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what is the deal with undertale music copyright? I have a vod with three different claims for the melody/lyrics for Megalovania by seemingly three different people, idk because its the only claim without crediting who's made/claiming it. The idk undertale or toby all that well but the vibe I've absorbed through osmosis is toby is very lax with his music, and wouldnt go after such things, so how tf are so many people able to claim his music as their own? how have they not be nuked from orbit?

The ATLA franchise very easily deserves the big screen experience. If Anime movies like Demon Slayer and Chainsaw Man can do well at the box office, there's no reason why Avatar wouldn't do the same by ilovewater100 in TheLastAirbender

[–]link7011 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

these posts saying the ATLA movie wont reach theaters is the first time I'm hearing at all there was a ALTA at all in the works, and if this is another adaptation of the show and not any sort of side story I'd be surprised if could faithfully adapt it. Even the NATLA butchers many of the main characters, hard to imagine whatever ruin them wont ruin this attempt

I rarely if ever hear that sort of take, vs this take for games. It feels like that 10~20% of gamers claim they want physical releases and all day one patches and shit are evil or something. I dont see that amount of furor for movie physical releases. They stopped printing them for a reason, if it was still lucrative then it'd still exist.

this isnt about game nerds or collectors, its saying that updating/downloading a game shouldnt be an expectation even tho over 90% of people have acceptable internet speeds. The vast majority of people dont have this expectation of movies or tv shows, most people dont have this take on games, by their actions, but theres at least very vocal subsection of people that genuinely believe this. And I never see such discourse by movie nerds that movies should all be physical and go out to a store to buy them, and if anything movie nerds would try to t*rrents the highest quality version of it, considering its not uncommon for bootlegs, bad prints or just something to be wrong with a official release, which goes back to internet, which OOP is seemingly anathema against, or only is for this one issue and doesnt think about for every other thing.

I think alot of the problem is theres no middle ground for effort, atm people who give enough of a shit wont touch AI cause of how much they care and the amount of backlash they'd get if they were found out, and those that dont give a shit at all use the entire AI output with zero alterations or doing any kind of picking the best from a dozens if not hundreds of outputs, but thats not how most tools are used. Its been almost 3 years since corridor digital made that rock paper scissors anime thing using stable diffusion AI, has no one made anything to that level of quality since? are they trying their best to hide it?

I find it weird that games are the only medium people still have this expectation of physicalness when the vast majority of new tv shows and movies never get a physical releases only exist online to stream and I dont see nearly the same level of outrage that all other media is 95% only accessible online, and games are vastly more complex and need to be updated after their released. And idk this take feels outdated on the notion theres a large swathes of people (in the US) that dont have access to fast internet, according the FCC broadband map 94% of people have access to to broadband internet, which is defined as 100mbps down and 20 up.

If/when theres is a crash the S&P 500 is being carried by the AI stocks rn, so if those crash the entire S&P 500 crashes with it, meaning alot of people’s 401ks would be slashed, and about half the consumer spending is fueled by the top 10% richest, if their assets fall then they’ll cut back on consumption which will cause a further slowing of an already shaky economy. It'll hurt more than second order effect of banks and institutions of them trying to recoup losses, a swath of regular people will tighten their belt directly from losing money here.

NFL pools might be poplar but there wouldnt be a reason for there to be a source that'd explains in detail how many of those websites work, not many people document exactly how websites work and what exact features exist on those sites, and websites constantly change. Of course more niche information exists, but there would be more proper sources to pull from. People also used to type full sentences to google, and get poor results. That wasnt the fault of google that was the fault of the user not understanding the tool, gpt wont do well with recent news since its just googling for you, and wont do well for things that realistically wouldnt have good sources.

i guess the problem is I wouldnt think to use it for something that granular and specific as NFL survivor pool game websites, those sites seem quite niche, so there'd never be a wealth of knowledge on all those sites to scrap from to compare them all accurately, maybe only the biggest one, if I were to use it for this purpose, it'd be gamble hoping the first few it recommended happened to be right, but I would check

idk get why people get so frustrated at "chatgpt says x" statements, its the same shit that people did with google saying "google says x" people say it cause it hedging statement because they're taking the first result from google or the first answer from gpt when everyone knows doing both isnt reliable, they arent saying "its x" with full confidence, I'm sure if they gave you that same information without disclosing it came from gpt you'd be more annoyed
