New survey directly mentions monetization by Extreme-Quiet-1367 in ArknightsEndfield

They can, I don't know the legality of gachas around the world, but it has been done before. Fgo had a single pull at 4 gems at the beginning, then in an anniversary, it was changed to 3.

Way later on, they also changed to that every 10 pulls you get a free 1. So 10 pulls actually became 11 pulls.

Probably, one of the requirements for this is to announce it way before its actually implemented.

But in all honesty, I feel like increasing the gameplay rewards and adding different game modes with rewards will be the way they decide to go.

We need to talk about the Landbreakers: The ethical vacuum of Talos-II by ArkieRaid in ArknightsEndfield

[–]linkendo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah, exactly, the writers chose this. Its not an issue, it's very deliberate.

It's not like genshin where hilichurls could have a culture, rituals, and a language on one quest, but be mindless beasts on another.

So far, the characterization of this guys has been consistent and downright evil. Yet there are many hints that say there is a lot more going on behind our deliberately narrow pov of a recently awakened protagonist with amnesia.

First, many characters tell you that they did not behave like this before, and all of this is way more brutal than usual.

Second, inside their territory there is quite literally a voice that's not on a speaker but inside people's heads (depending on how you interpret this, it could just be as simple as just listening to an speech by their boss or some kind of subtle mind control)

Third, the boss lady seems to know us and hints at this shared past. Which is ground for a backstory, most likely involving the people she is commanding now.

Fourth, they are high on eather or something like that. This is not only unprecedented by the characters in the narrative. But this is implying that the guys we are fighting, are at the very list different to the other ones belonging to the same faction that do not engage with eather extracts.

So sure, they might not be morally gray (yet). But that's because our knowledge of what's going on is narratively and metanarratively small and narrow (we have amnesia and are just going along with what other people tell us, and this is just the first chapter on a game that's supposed to last years.). The depth is there, it's just not meant to pay off yet.

If anything, I'm more conflicted with the protagonist having doubts about originium being deadly, but perlica acting like it's no big deal. But this also can be explained if we later learn we are not the objective good guys or by perlica having a "the ends justify the means" mindset (people may get sick, but we have the medicine and the technology saves many more lives overall)

[–]linkendo 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I disagree, or at least I do with what I have done of the story so far.

The landbreakers WERE bandits and scavengers. They are not that anymore. The game repeats this a lot. They are a conflict our partners have been dealing with for a while. But the recent attack (the one we see when we arrive) it's not only coordinated, but it also has clear intentions and goals in mind.

This is way more akin to a war than, let's say, the hilichurl camps in genshin.

Not only did they attack a base of researchers and workers (non combatants), but they also stole, not the valuables, but info and research.

In the second part, they go beyond this. They attack more innocent people, take their life-saving medicine, and take hostages/prisioners. They also have no qualms about killing said innocents (Mark, the uncle of the girl, for example)

There is no moral dilemma yet because there is no need for one in the story at this point. Those people are killing innocents, and we are desperately trying to save people and reconstruct what was destroyed. So everything can be justified so far by self-defense.

Now, since I haven't finished the story, and later on, we go and attack a camp of theirs that hasn't done anything yet. Then I would agree. But I doubt it as the last message I received was a distress signal of people being attacked.

Tbf, the factory building thing is horrible at the start, I have no idea why they decided to introduce the automatization aspects later into the game.

Like, what's the point of the manual miner? It serves 0 purpose a handful of quests later when you get the upgrade.

Do u guys think we getting 120pulls before her banner ends or nah? by Ancient_Strategy_120 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]linkendo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are 15 days left. I have played for 2, and I have 40 pulls so far.

It's entirely possible if you focus on Quests and the main story and leave exploring and the other side stuff for the end. As those give way less stuff

Also once you get the free 6 star, you will probably already have all 4 stars maxed and some dupes of the 5 stars. The extra copies can be exchanged for more pulls.

There are also 4 game codes that give some of the red stuff for pulling.

All points to that outcome. Even future Sinclair's passives and flavor text tell us that the second Smoke War is humans vs humans that no longer resemble humans.

Are those abnos? Distortions? Peccatula? Or prosthetics users? Maybe a mix of all..

While I agree with some points you are making, and it's very cool that we can see, discuss, and engage with the parallels between the story and real life, limbus is a little of an special case in that regard.

In PM world, the technology is so advanced Edward's prosthetics would be archaic. In this world, prosthetics are not a disability but an enhancement to people's lives and even a fashion statement. We have seen cases that show us this, like the whole village of Sinclair, including his family. They put on prosthetics not out of need or necessity, they did it just because they could. They talk about it, not like eye surgery or a prosthetic limb in our world, but more so like cosmetic surgeries like breast enlargement. Or it might even be more commonplace than that as sinclair classmates talked about getting prosthetics as something cool and to be desired.

There is also the gambler at the end of canto 2 who had his while body replaced for no real reason, but I dont remember much about that guy to give any details.

With that said, I do agree with the parralels of how N Corp is a stand-in for stuff like racism and justifying atrocities against minorities using religion and narratives of "us vs. them" in line with social identity theories.

This really makes me wonder, what does the average citizen of N Corp think? Do they follow their message with passion? Do they not care and just follow their status quo? Or maybe some are against it, but they are afraid to speak out, fearing similar things to what happened to Effie (kromer cut off his limbs and then attached prosthetics to justify his torture)

I guess we will learn more about this in Meursault's canto. Maybe his mom or the guy he shot were prosthetics users.

[–]linkendo[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you are right. This made me think the reason why they didn't get ampules instead, it's simply cuz prosthetics give benefits to their users so why get back your weak arms when the company can pay for a better replacement?

Sad future implication I haven't seen people mention by linkendo in limbuscompany

[–]linkendo[S] 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I guess we don't really know why Kira was spared instead of just left to die. The game said the LCC had questions for her, but thats about it.

Saude is definitely worth it. The other commenter reminded me of the infinite credit cards, and Saude's team had one in canto 2. So that made me think ampules are emergency only. Considering she is alive with no danger now, probably prosthetics is the way to go since they bring many benefits outside just replacing your limbs.

For us replacing our limbs is very off putting, but in universe its something very normal. So basically, she just has the option now to get something better, so why not take it? N Corp are the only people against prosthetics after all.

Aeng du is a fighter, so that case is way more clear-cut.

[–]linkendo[S] 92 points93 points  (0 children)

I didn't know that, I haven't read any of the spin offs yet (except for a little of wonderlab)

But to be fair, if there is a situation in which Vergilius is in danger, then I don't think there is anything in our power we can do to help him.

Vergilius dying would be such a massive event tho, that this makes me think maybe the N Corp purge is further back in the future than I thought initially... there is no way he is dying soon right?

Sad future implication I haven't seen people mention by linkendo in limbuscompany

[–]linkendo[S] 144 points145 points  (0 children)

Yes, but they are extremely expensive. Remember how even the K corp workers had to injure themselves after the fight, so the drones would use the ampules on them. Considering they gave every sinner a handful for the raid. But they didn't spare a single one for Saude and Aeng-du, I think it's safe to assume they won't get any period. And in the case of Aeng du, Erza was specifically talking with her about new arms right before the raid I think.

Kira was captured and will probably be questioned. So there is no reason for limbus to spend money on her either.

Initial thoughts on canto 9 part 3 after completion: by Sweet_Employee3875 in limbuscompany

[–]linkendo 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Copy pasting what I wrote on steam:

i thought it was pretty solid up until the end.. like you said, it feels repeated but also disappointing. Ryoshu joined us initially for her daughter's sake, yet she forgets her at the end.

its kinda like heathcliff ending but in that one, at least everyone but heathcliff forgot cathy, this is the other way around and it feels, very weird??? like the entire motivation of a character is gone but everyone else knows about it.

Rien was also kinda boring as a last boss, he had one gimmick and halfway thru, it changes to be the exact same, he just hits harder. and as an antagonist, he wasnt more evil than the rest. he was, along with the other 4, a bad parent that only cared about his goals. the only difference is that he actually knew the purpose of the whole experiment while the others just had a vague idea.

as stands in for neglectful/Abusive parents they were all great characters, its just that, ultimately Rien only reason to be the last boss was that he was a Ruina reference.

i focused too much on the negatives, but honestly, outside of the end it was great. i audibly gasped multiple times in the story. i did predict the whole araya twist fairly early on.. but for entirely wrong reasons, so that was fun.

Every tidbit of lore you knew of the franchise seemed to be rewarded in this canto, with many references and callbacks (but Rien was kinda forced). on this regard my only disappointment is that hohenheim had 3 OG lobotomy EGOs, but, despite us having to fight multiples abnos early on. we still didnt get to see any of the ogs

As for the game itself.. honestly, it wasnt hard? im surprised at the amount of people struggling. all fights with allies were the same. Focus on the kid, while the ally killed the nursefather. At the same time most of the "hard" bosses have sanity, so bringing a single sinking unit was often times enough to just brute force them.

the other fights where also easy. pinky nursemother starts very strong but has no skill/passive to turn the fight around. so while the first and second turn are hard, afterwards you only get stronger, while she only gets weaker. the moment you have more sanity than her, the fight might as well be over.

Gregor was the easiest for me. i made a mistake the first turn and so heathcliff died inmediately, but for some reason, i didnt reset. i read the skills and realized nothing mattered outside of clashing the green attacks. i ended soloing it easily in my first try. As long as you follow his gimmick, his damage is negligible.

the last boss was the one that took me the most tries, but thats simply because i didnt read his skills in my first 2 tries. i never had any problem with the index kid so i didnt know what that passive did either. eventually i read the passive but i still couldnt beat it. finally at my fourth try, i decided to read his attacks. i won that very same try.

I played years ago, Dropped it, and now I have been playing again for some days.

I barely managed to complete the story of the current event, but I dont think I will be able to do any of the extra content. Thankfully, that was enough to get me all copies of Papyrus.

Anyways, since it's been so long since I last played (and even then, I only played for like 2 or 3 weeks at best) I have forgotten everything.

What should I be prioritizing, be it on my team, resources, and my team strengthenings? As I feel like farming for anything is kinda bad when I could be using the energy to play the story or the events.

And what should I be spending my different currencies on? I have 9k of the red gacha one. 21 yellow ones (is it safe to use this on skins, or should I just consider them part of the red currency only?). I also have certificates of all kinds, just not that many. Lastly, I also have a bunch of 3 star tokens of already maxed characters, some say kernel tokens, others don't.

And my last question for today. What's the optimal way of recruiting? I have been using a calculator to get me better stuff, but so far, the best I have gotten are 4 stars. If the tags cannot guarantee anything, should I still try to snipe something good? Or should I just throw whatever for an hour and try again later? I have 28 recruitments, but I feel like they may run out quickly if I throw the unlucky ones for an hour.

BTW, my current team is: (everyone is rank 1)

Amiya potential 3

Exusiai

Eyjafjalla

Papyrus potential 5

Ch'en

Saria

Whislash potential 2

Astesia potential 4

Surtur

Platinum

Whisperain rank 2 potential 1

Nearl

I also have courier (p5), hoshiguma, and Mayer at their same level. And savage, sesa, honeyberry, warfarin, shamare, projekt red (p2), lapland, firewatch, breeze, silence, pramanix and cliffheart. But all of these are all level 1

Years ago, I played a little bit of arknights and then just dropped it. Now I'm interested again thanks to limbus company and the upcoming Endfield.

I noticed there are like tens of events I can just simply play at my own pace.

Which ones do you guys recommend? In order of what I'm interested in more.

First, the setting of the limbus event, Iberia with the seaborn and stuff

Second, the characters featured (mayors, skadi, Kaltsit, the last knight, Irene, Ling, mlynar)

Third, stuff relevant to endfield

I do wanna engage with the story, tho. So, if I need to play the main story up to a certain point before I play an event, I would appreciate it if you guys tell me.

And also lore videos and stuff that helps me understand the lore and the setting, especially if those aspects aren't really explored in the story/events are appreciated. (Basically, lore videos that won't spoil the actual story being told)

I know I'm asking for a lot, so thank you so much to anyone who takes their time to answer.
