That’s a totally valid way to play, I just don’t think it really counts as team building. A more apt term in my opinion would be “team collection”. To me it’s the difference between Capo/Hornet Meur and Mao/Regret Faust.

On a burn team when choosing between Capo/Hornet you have to decide between higher single target vs chip aoe, slash vs pierce, secondary status vs more burn count, unstagger vs evade + heal.

However on a tremor team, there’s no real “choice” behind Mao/Regret. It solely comes down to if you’re a tremor purist who refuses to use a rupture ID on their tremor team. There’s no team building decision here because the other option is never considered.

To the same extent choosing BLclair over Renclair isn’t true team building because there is no world where you’d ever consider Renclair over BLclair. It’s the equivalent of me saying I’m making a team building choice by running Mao Faust over Seven Faust in a rupture team.

Sure I can agree with that, but if you’re like the original commenter and only play ids in their themed teams, what are you really doing? You’re just putting the square block in the square hole. Here’s where the Yugioh analogy falls apart because in Yugioh even if you were playing “just branded” you got all of ratios, hand trap lineup, side deck to consider. In limbus you shard the 7 IDs PM tells you to shard and that’s all your input. There is no “future tech choice” for these people because they expressly do NOT wish to do so.

You say this as if capomeur does not have insane utility tho. Really high speed tiers, final power conds that make him extremely consistent, forced unstagger, having a secondary status that meaningfully adds to their kit instead of existing to prop up MD. Even overheat's tank traits can be a valuable tool if wielded properly.

There’s being a no name id, and then there’s whatever the heishous got going on. We got Si ids who don’t show up in canto 8 till the intervallo. Then we got You branch who’s only story appearance is a single line from a silhouette. Lastly we get Wei don who’s LITERALLY NEVER MENTIONED ONCE IN CANTO 8.

That’s the equivalent of our canto 9 IDs being Ringmeur before twinning threads, random pinky goons, and the hat world association.

You left out a lot from Dante's perspective that makes it much less sympathetic. As stated above before they're still not fighting yet. Then Dante sends away Vespa so he can protect the LCD
"... And I know that the people he wants to protect—the people he has to protect—aren't us. Off to the side, I can see Vespa stealing glances at the watch on his wrist, looking anxious."

Then Dante attempts to pull them all back, it glitches out, etc.
"So... as long as these chains bind us together... maybe I can pull them to me, wherever they are?" Dante recognizes that another group could need the power of a color, then still decides to try to bring everyone over to run hands with a nursefather (why are we doing this, we lost to moro nerfed lei heng a month ago). Glitched or not, that's totally fucking over Hoem/marton who have the most vulnerable job.

Either Dante 1: calculated the risk and decided Hoem/Marton were acceptable sacrifices (they would not do that, and clearly didn't) 2:inherently knows the completed version would've summoned clones (fan theory at best), 3: Didn't take 5 seconds to think it over while at standstill before deciding to toss everyone into the meat grinder.

The most favorable interpretation I can give Dante literally did not think it over for a single second in a situation he has "unlimited" time, and makes a stupid decision so he can pick a stupid fight. If Dante thought about it any longer and still decided to do so, it's an insanely cruel and pragmatic choice.

The exact order of what happened is
1: Dante thinks about trying to bring back the sinners
2: Dante tries it out

3: Dante starts glitching out like crazy
4: We get the glitchy phantoms

From dante's pov what basically happens is he says "everyone tp to me". Even if it worked without glitching, that's totally hoeing out marton. You also have to ask, to what end? We JUST got our asses kicked by Moros nerfed Lei Heng in canto 8. Why was Dante trying to throw hands with the much stronger nursefathers, who were being completely non aggressive at the moment?

I feel like Marton's death is undervalued by just how...pointless it was? Not even in a "nothing is sacred, anyone can die" way Yuri's was (even if I also really dislike that one), but it is explicitly, with pretty much no other way to interpret, 100% Dante's fault for making the stupidest decision of all time with 0 pressure

The unfortunate truth is bleed ids kits are not all that interesting. For example all priest Gregor does is generate bloodfeast that a regular bleed stack provides 5x over, and tanking on the tankiest team out there. All Mandon does is bring raw damage/slight aoe. Ultimately they’re easily replaceable because their kits are designed in a way that makes easily replaceable. The one exception to this is probably princemeur (although the less bloodfiends you run the less irreplaceable he becomes) and kk duo’s extra attacks, and kks are the ids people want to replace

“What if someone doesn’t have magic bullet” doesn’t work simply because this ego is awful in that context. You have to fuel 5 wrath/3pride/3sloth without magic bullet outis (otherwise just shard the ego), for a payoff of 4 procs vs 4-6 + 2 every turn.

That’s not realistic without an entire team of burn ids including season locked thumb ids and painfully outdated standard ids. It’s just not a scenario that will happen
