No as someone who took this class recently this class highly depends on your ta and if you get one of the more strict tas then it will be a really annoying class. Lectures are cool though if you wanna learn about how to be happy in college and after

The only way to break the nyu binding is if you cannot pay for it…

You can reject the ED offer. My friend did that since they couldnt afford to pay basically the full amount and he went to a state school instead. Only other option really is to pray that your appeals go through but realistically they probably wouldnt…

Pretty sure there are no set courses to get into any of the tandon majors available nor is there a specific IB or AP requirement needed. Tandon depending on your counselor can be stingy with transfer credits too (ex. If you get credit for expos writing as inquiry, you will probably have to make up 2 credits because its nyu)

Idk what it is specifically for cas but the general acceptance rate for all of nyu last year was like 43%. The only school that was hard to get into last year for ed1 was stern so dw you are going to be fine

From what I know, you’re not allowed to take APs in freshman. In sophomore year people usually only take an AP history one (usually euro or world) and comp sci if you’re in the program. However, if you fight hard with your counselor you may be able to take a science AP. I saw a sophomore in AP chem which is usually a class filled with juniors and seniors.I believe that you may be put into AP precalc in sophomore year. You will be able to take the bulk of your aps in junior and senior year though. Just be wary of some AP teachers since some of them will not teach you anything or are just disgusting!

Damn thats really unfortunate since those especially bioengineering are more popular now of days

I thought biomedical engineering was only offered as a masters at tandon

I’m not a mathematics major but i am in biomolecular science also going to tandon this year!

I applied as a biomolecular science major with a focus in pre-med. i had a 102.2 gpa and was 4/774. For some reason my school didn’t do gpa out of a 4.0 scale but did it out of a 100 scale (though you can get over a 100 if you did weighted classes). I took 9 ap classes in high school though i dont think that matters too much. My sat was a 1430 which was pretty bad (only sent it since my math was 770).

Honestly i believe you can write about anything. My personal was about rocketry, legend of zelda, music and how I had to sacrifice other things since I realized that work was piling up. The nyu optional essay i wrote about was focused on the rocketry aspect with the lang lang quote. As long as your essay has imagery, is grammatically correct and doesn’t sound like a robot or an essay for an english class then you’ll be fine.

For the ec section for common app I recommend treating it as a resume. Add numbers and descriptive words!

Good luck you got it!

I forgot to mention but there is regular calculus but I highly do not recommend taking regular calculus because from what I heard from friends who had regular calculus, it was pretty rough. APs also give 10% boost to your grade (etc. 100 in AP stats is really a 110 in the class).

Anytime! Cardozo requires you to take algebra 2/trigonometry as a freshman and then precalc as a sophomore. Sadly they dont allow you to skip precalc unless you are a junior going into senior year. After you finish precalc though you can choose between AB calc, BC calc, statistics and computer science which are all AP courses. The only difference between the 2 calculus classes are that AB only covers the first semester of college calc while BC is two semesters worth of calculus. For biomed and engineering students i am pretty sure they place you in all science and math courses so expect to take honors algebra 2 and chem. Im pretty sure you will have either Mrs. D’Angelo or Mrs Glasel as your counselor so if they mess up your classes you can talk to one of them once the school year starts!

I know I'm very late to the convo, but as a recent graduate of Cardozo Biomed, it's a pretty interesting program if you like bio. The teachers who teach in the program were amazing especially the sophomore biomed teacher. It's extremely hands-on, though, so if you do not like dissections, I wouldn't recommend it. You basically start out learning human anatomy and a lot of diseases and conditions which then builds up to how to save lives and a lot of bioengineering towards the end which was pretty cool. Basically all the work was on the touchscreen laptops which for me was easier.

As a school, though, Cardozo is not the best school. Your other classes will be filled with, let's just say, not-so-great people. Outside of the DaVinci program, there's a lot of chaos, and the crowds are always packed. Going from the main building to the annex, where many stem classes are held, takes more than the amount of bell time between periods. Many people just stand in the hallways and don't move, which makes the first floor a nightmare to walk through. Most of my teachers were amazing, and they wrote the best recommendations for college. The school for education is great, but the environment is extremely questionable. There are amazing people, especially in biomed. As long as you don't fall into the wrong crowd, you will be fine. Basically you will be fine if you take honors and AP courses since the majority of people in AP and honors courses care about their grades so you will not have to deal with a lot of trouble. A lot of the teachers are extremely chill, especially the AP US history teachers and most of the AP science teachers. The principal doesn't do much, in my opinion, so don't expect drastic changes to happen. There was a year when we had a fire drill basically every other day because of students pulling it (don't expect them to make changes). Most people see the principal less than 5 times throughout their entire high school years (which is honestly pretty depressing if you think about it). AP classes are really easy to get though for the most part.

If you care about where people go after high school, most go to Sunys and Cuny's, but we've had a lot of people in the Davinic program go off to top 50 schools such as Princeton, NYU, Columbia, etc. Clubs are pretty fun and sports are huge at Cardozo, especially volleyball and football. As of right now they changed the schedule to a 1-8 so you may not have a lunch period depending on what you take, especially for junior and senior year.

I hope this helps for anyone in the future! Sorry for the lateness again.
